It's really really upset me, I've had some great support on this forum but I think I have to be off.

Such a shame.

Sorry, a panty raid is just another term for an invasion. You know, when they come over here and start bollocks threads for affect. They are after the reaction so they can go back and laugh about it safe on their own site.

I don't see how it can be reported, or at least not with any effect. ArRSe isn't even hosted in the UK, so could the UK police actually get involved? If anon posters are posting anon messages using anon email addresses onto a foreign website...and if by some fluke the British police did get hold of a real someone, but that someone turned out to be a spotty faced 14 year old or a perverted 80 year old posting from his care home - wouldn't that be a waste of funds?

I see what you are saying, and understand why you say it, but don't think it's very likely that anything could be done. I'd rather just ignore.

Nancy66 · 13/08/2013 22:28

did anyone actually post on ARRSE about raping children? I didn't see anything.

NiceTabard · 13/08/2013 22:28

Isabel I had a look CEOP is for children in the UK so wouldn't cover children being raped overseas by UK, esp armed forced I would imagine.

NiceTabard · 13/08/2013 22:28

Although they might be able to point rabbit in the right direction I guess

mignonette · 13/08/2013 22:29

Until these sub standard little dicks are rooted out nobody in my family will ever donate to the British Legion again and I will do my level best to inform other potential donaters of what has been written.

And if that hurts 'decent' soldiers then maybe they'll be less inclined to turn the other cheek when they hear of this going on and actually try to do something about it. I have sent the offending pages to my MP, to the British Legion and Action for Heroes.

My DD''s BF's Father is senior in the military Police in the East and I will be phoning him tomorrow to ask for some guidance on this and what 'their' official position is.

MrsBW · 13/08/2013 22:30

NiceTabard

Arsse isn't run by the Army - no point complaining to them.

Isabelonatricycle · 13/08/2013 22:31

NiceTabard, not sure what good an army complaints number would be. Absolutely nothing to say any poster has any connection whatsoever with the armed forces, and the website is not affiliated to the armed forces either.

TheTurdsOfMisery · 13/08/2013 22:31

I see where a lot of you are coming from. I understand what you're saying. But honestly? LtEveDallas speaks the coolest, calmest sense. Take the time to read her posts again.

MrsBW · 13/08/2013 22:32

did anyone actually post on ARRSE about raping children? I didn't see anything.

Me neither. But let's not let that get in the way of some pearl clutching...

mignonette · 13/08/2013 22:33

It is 'affiliated' to soldiers in the way MN is to Mothers. Likely mostly full of them. Do I see the Army disassociating themselves publicly?

MrsBW · 13/08/2013 22:33

I'm going to hell for that last one.

I do agree... We shouldn't ignore it.

But we should also get some perspective and have. Think about what action to take.

Especially about a thread started by a load of no marks... In April 2011.

Isabelonatricycle · 13/08/2013 22:35

mignonette see above to NiceTabard. I expect the official position is that arrse isn't affiliated to the armed forces, and that it is an open website on which anybody can make shit up post things.

I would have thought most potential donors would be aware of that.

MrsBW · 13/08/2013 22:35

have a think

LtEveDallas · 13/08/2013 22:35

You might not see it mignoette. But I do. On every post, every missive, every direct order given by superiors NOT to be a member of or use ArRSe.

MrsBW · 13/08/2013 22:36

It is 'affiliated' to soldiers in the way MN is to Mothers. Likely mostly full of them. Do I see the Army disassociating themselves publicly?

Why would they?

Tiny minority giving it a bad name.

Like the trolls on here.

NiceTabard · 13/08/2013 22:37

Army can look at thread and see with their knowledge of area whether it sounds real.
Army can tell police and police can get details of poster from website.
Army request bears more weight with police than civilian request.
Police then pass details to army who can verify if poster was in army and in Kenya when the crime is supposed to have happened. And poss have current address etc and records about them.

No reason that shouldn't happen. It should happen. People saying they are reminiscing about their time in UK armed forces shouldn't be able to say they have done X, Y, Z and it means nothing. They might have done it, it should mean something. And if they are lying fuckwits then a knock on the door might make them think twice before doing it again.

mignonette · 13/08/2013 22:38

I am aware of it but causing a nice big media stink which raises some questions about 'our boys' and the ridiculous sentimental jingoistic nonsense spouted about them will be a refreshing change.

Stating a site as Being open and not 'necessarily full of soldiers' is not the same as disassociating your organisation from something.

RabbitIssue · 13/08/2013 22:38

it wasn't on the kenya thread. they didn't say 'children' they said 'very, very underage girls' - no pearl clutching here, but thanks Hmm

going to bed.

Isabelonatricycle · 13/08/2013 22:38

Sorry mignonette that was to your previous post. My take on arrse is that it has rather a lot of members who haven't the remotest connection to the armed forces.

MrsBW · 13/08/2013 22:39

The army have their own branch of police - the RMP.

How do you know they're not doing it already? Wink

mignonette · 13/08/2013 22:39

People who do not agree with you are not trolls MrsB. I do hope that you are not implying that I am a troll because I haven't rolled over in supplication Grin...

usualsuspect · 13/08/2013 22:40

No it seems the army thinks we should ignore their jolly japes.

Just a bit of fun innit..

Isabelonatricycle · 13/08/2013 22:40

X posting as you all type to fast. Ducking out as LtEveDallas is making most sense and replies in the right places unlike me

mignonette · 13/08/2013 22:40

I will contact my sonette in laws DF in the MP tomorrow. And I will ask him.

MrsBW · 13/08/2013 22:41

RabbitIssue thanks. I had a look at the Kenya thread but have better things to do than trawl through infinite threads on a website full of total tossers.

Perhaps you should report the thread to the RMP? They do investigate if it's required.
