To be thinking of going round and slapping this mother if the police don't hurry up and get here?

My neighbour is physically and verbally abusing her daughter, and i mean really badly.

I've just listened to her screaming at the poor kid in the garden and telling her 'you're a useless cunt just like your fucking father, that's why he left you' then there was a massive thwack noise and i looked out the window in time to see her dragging the child in by the hair, there's what looks like blood on the patio, when they got indoors the mother carried on screaming at the child and there have been a few thumping noises followed by screams. I've called the police but they aren't here yet and the child is still crying, it's heart breaking.

Poor kid is only 2! She can't have done anything so terrible as to deserve that!

I think I'll just wait until I explain myself on this one.

Naieve (sp?) Maybe. But whatever.

pictish · 31/07/2013 18:13

We shall see.

Cluffyflump · 31/07/2013 18:14

You all know what to do if you feel Hmm

monkeyfacegrace · 31/07/2013 18:14

Oh ffs. Tee, usual and pict all think the same.

Bugger, thats the MN possy on it.

Im on the fence Grin

WorraLiberty · 31/07/2013 18:15

Surely it would have been better to post about this after the actual event OP?

Threads like this just keep everyone hanging

Anyway, you'd have been better to keep your eyes/ears on what's happening to the poor child...rather than name changing and typing the OP.

Tee2072 · 31/07/2013 18:15

And I think we've all done it. But thanks for the lecture on how to use MN. Very useful.

ruddynorah · 31/07/2013 18:15

Why would you wait around? You called the police now go knock on the door.

I agree with worra...why post in the middle of such a horrible thing?

ArghFFS · 31/07/2013 18:17

Sorry was round there, knocked on the door and said I'd heard screaming and was everything ok, got told to mind my own business so stood and argued with the woman til the police arrived.

Police have taken my details and a short statement and said they would be in touch soon and to expect a call off ss. The child is obviously very shaken up but is being comforted by a lovely police woman.

LookMaw, I am a regular, just name changed.

Perhaps the OP was in such shock after witnessing it that she needed some hand holding and advice while she waited for the police to arrive. . Not everyone knows what to do in the heat of the moment. Hopefully she's in the middle if making a statement to the police.

JenaiMorris · 31/07/2013 18:17

If you had called 999 the police would have arrived by now.

You're not the same person who posted on that other thread about the "excuse for a mother" are you? The one that had allegedly heard all sorts but not bothered to report it?

BenedictCumberbitch · 31/07/2013 18:18

Well done op!

Poor kid.

TylerHopkins · 31/07/2013 18:19

Thanks for the update OP.

StraightJacket · 31/07/2013 18:19

I hope to god this isn't true, for the poor childs sake!

Made me feel sick just reading that. If it was me, I would go around there with my phone on me with a line open to the police after getting back onto them and telling them what was going on and insisting someone gets out asap!

TallGiraffe · 31/07/2013 18:20

Are they going to get her checked by a doctor?

Fair enough. Glad every thing's ok.

I'm sure if you're a regular you'll understand why it comes across as a little suspicious. Shame you nc'ed so recently.

JumpingJackSprat · 31/07/2013 18:21

X post well done op. not many people would have gone and knocked i think, despite what people say on here.

Sallystyle · 31/07/2013 18:21

Why is the OP getting a hard time? Report it to MNHQ if you think she is a troll.

People seem to cry troll very quickly here Hmm

Well done OP. I think going round was brave considering how disgusting she is but you did the right thing.

Also, there was nothing wrong with coming here first, not everyone acts perfectly in a crisis. You called, plenty of people still turn a blind eye to these things.
