To be thinking of going round and slapping this mother if the police don't hurry up and get here?

My neighbour is physically and verbally abusing her daughter, and i mean really badly.

I've just listened to her screaming at the poor kid in the garden and telling her 'you're a useless cunt just like your fucking father, that's why he left you' then there was a massive thwack noise and i looked out the window in time to see her dragging the child in by the hair, there's what looks like blood on the patio, when they got indoors the mother carried on screaming at the child and there have been a few thumping noises followed by screams. I've called the police but they aren't here yet and the child is still crying, it's heart breaking.

Poor kid is only 2! She can't have done anything so terrible as to deserve that!

Please keep us posted. This child is in imminent danger.

Justforlaughs · 31/07/2013 17:58

Have the police said that they will go round immediately? If so, how long ago was that?
Go round yourself, if you can do so without putting your own DCs at risk, but make sure that someone knows that you are doing so and preferably take another witness with you.
Is this the first time that this has happened? Make sure you make a statement to SS or the police about what you saw/ heard and any other incidents that you have seen in the past.

InTheRedCorner · 31/07/2013 17:59

Get off the Internet and go and bang on her door!!!!!!

mumblechum1 · 31/07/2013 18:00

Hopefully the OP has gone round, as she hasn't been back to the thread.

SirBoobAlot · 31/07/2013 18:00

Really hope the police are there now. How horrible.

burberryqueen · 31/07/2013 18:00

please go round she might really hurt her

BerryLellow · 31/07/2013 18:00

Sounds like intervention is desperately needed - If only to distract until Police arrive.

onepieceoflollipop · 31/07/2013 18:00

There is surely a middle ground between staying in your house posting on mnet, to the other extreme of going round to assault her.

Even shouting over the fence or banging on the door/wall could be useful. This child could be in serious danger or worse. (I live in a city where a mother and stepfather were, just 2 hours ago, found guilty of murdering their 4 year old)

zatyaballerina · 31/07/2013 18:02

Can you round up a few neighbours, explain you're worried and go knock on the door. Hope the child's ok xx

ImNotBloody14 · 31/07/2013 18:03

I couldnt stop myself from going over there tbh- i wouldnt be waiting for the police. Thats an asaault on a child-no way could i sit and wait for the police to gt there

98percentchocolate · 31/07/2013 18:03

Hoping that OP is busy giving the police a witness statement now and that baby is fine.

zatyaballerina · 31/07/2013 18:04

I suggested a few neighbours btw because she'll be less aggressive in front of a group.

TylerHopkins · 31/07/2013 18:05

Thank God the OP witnessed it to be able to report it. How many times could this have happened before and no one was around to stop it. Sad

WhoeverHeardOfAWormskinRug · 31/07/2013 18:05

Oh that poor baby! I hope that help arrives soon. I don't think I would be able to stop myself from going round.

monkeyfacegrace · 31/07/2013 18:05
