StuffezLaYoni · 21/06/2013 19:24

Cake is so over rated. Savoury is the way forward.

Binkyridesagain · 21/06/2013 19:24

ouryve · 21/06/2013 19:25

YouTheCat · 21/06/2013 19:26

OccasionalTherapy · 21/06/2013 19:27

Cake has all the necessary food groups. Sugar. Flour. Butter. Jam. Chocolate.

D'you know, I just don't get the MN obsession with cake. It's just cake. Sugary, fattening and over once you've eaten it. Couldn't tell you the last time I ate cake. Oh no, tell a lie... I had the corner off a brownie a month or so ago. It was ok. But just cake .

Bemused.

portraitoftheartist · 21/06/2013 19:31

A group of us went to a Cotswold Tea Shoppe for a treat. We had gateau, fresh cream meringue, chocolate layer cake, millionaire's shortbread, brownie. Small skinny friend had a fruit scone, no butter.

8thplace · 21/06/2013 19:32

I had 1/4 of a delicious choc fudge cake earlier. Yum.

NumTumDeDum · 21/06/2013 19:35

Fresh coconut cake.
Tropical fruit cake.
Fresh cream sponge drops.
Walnut cake.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmnnnnnnn.

The pedant inherent within me must point out that op posts no dilemma. Unless it is would I be unreasonable to live off cake.

As for these savoury types, unsavoury more like

ifancyashandy · 21/06/2013 19:37

Portrait, you'd have been disgusted with me - I would have just had a coffee!

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 21/06/2013 19:37

DS1s chocolate cake creation.
Sigh.

Binkyridesagain · 21/06/2013 19:37

Ifancyashandy it is not just cake, it is food of the gods. I suspect you haven't found the right cake for you yet. Grin

StuffezLaYoni · 21/06/2013 19:40

It is though! It's just pointless sweetness! Grin
As it happens, I am a rather marvellous --immodest- cake baker and I love baking, so work people get my offerings every week.
I do like a good banoffee pie though!

ifancyashandy · 21/06/2013 19:41

I'd honestly rather have a carrot juice than a cake Binkey! I see cake and think 'waste of calories' Grin

NumTumDeDum · 21/06/2013 19:43

It's a very scientific process finding the right cake .

Step one. Purchase cake (the very keen may make them but this takes longer). Purchase as many types as you cam carry home or alternatively order online and have the lovely man from occado deliver them for you.

Step two. Devour, Pausing only to make notes, later to be referred to as empirical research.

Step three. Post results on mumsnet.

ClartyCarol · 21/06/2013 19:43

Ha! I'd see a glass of carrot juice and think waste of digestive juices.

Chocolate torte.

TheCameliousHumph · 21/06/2013 19:44
