I'm really pleased that I saved reading this thread until it was nice and long
I've bookmarked it for future baking inspiration- I love cake.
The best cake I make is Bacardi rum cake- delicious, very boozy, and i don't make it very often - gorgeous!
I love a traditional American style birthday cake with buttercream icing. It's all about the icing.
