So I don't watch the show but comments on FB got me intrigued enough to google and then watch the clip.

I'm sure she thinks her prank was hilarious and that Simon Cowell deserved it, but regardless she took the limelight and attention off the people performing their act - which was potentially one of the biggest and most important moments of their life.

For what? ... Nothing.

Aibu to think she is just a selfish and immature woman?

YANBU at all. I couldn't care less about Simon Cowell getting an eggy jacket but for the two guys who were performing it could have been really disruptive and upsetting. Stupid bitch.

sweetestcup · 09/06/2013 01:01

YANBU. Again its not about Simon Cowell and what she thinks of him...but to attempt to disrupt someones elses performance, very poor.

cantspel · 09/06/2013 01:01

Amanda was right she is a stupid cow.

AgentZigzag · 09/06/2013 01:04

I love it you're so outraged about a program you didn't watch Grin

I'm not sure what I think about Simon Cowell getting an egging, he probably deserves one for being so successful and rich, bring him down a peg or two Brit style.

Not really though Grin I don't like the humiliation of it, but I do reserve my right to chuck eggs at politicians who fuck us over

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 09/06/2013 01:09

Do you think it's possible that the egg thing was planned as part of the show?

CartwrightMiss · 09/06/2013 01:10

Haha, yes a little pathetic I know Grin

I did use to watch it, even went to be in the audience for one show but as stupid as it sounds it really upset me how set up it was just to humiliate people. Of course I knew that before going but seeing it first hand really brought home how terrible the concept is.

But I do think there is very raw and amazing talent on there and how hard those people worked to get into the final and to just have it ruined like that - makes me so flipping angry.

Hmm, there's always a cynical side of me that would think that's true but ...

The woman's career could be damaged because of it now her band will have a bad reputation.

Would Simon really agree to sit there and have egg thrown at him?

It's even more extremely unfair on the act if this was staged.

So I really have no idea.

AgentZigzag · 09/06/2013 01:21

It was planned by the rest of the crew and they didn't bother telling Simon Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 09/06/2013 01:23

The woman's career and the reputation of her band could just as easily be enhanced.
Absolutely, I think he'd agree to have a couple of eggs thrown at his jacket in order to maximise ongoing publicity.
If I was the woman I'd have aimed for his head!
Not unfair on the act if they knew it was coming.

Alisvolatpropiis · 09/06/2013 01:26

It was probably planned in some way,I would imagine.

If not, grossly unprofessional, childish and career ending.

cantspel · 09/06/2013 01:30

It is daft to think it was planned as no way would SC be willing to allow someone to throw eggs at him on national tv .

The egg thrower is a musician and Sc is a big cheese in the music and tv industry. She has just destroyed any chance of ever working on any big productions ever again and will be lucky to get a gig at the local village fair.

SpecialAgentTattooedQueen · 09/06/2013 01:50

Fun fact: Eggs hitting you is actually really, really painful.

FreudiansSlipper · 09/06/2013 02:03

I found it amusing and probably got the two guys singing more votes. She will get her 15 minutes of fame I doubt she is really sorry

Monty27 · 09/06/2013 02:10

I missed the eggs bit but did witness Amanda Holden calling the perpetrator a stupid cow. She's so unprofessional. She's a stupd cow herself lol. Or should i say moooooo. Grin amanda holden is so overrated imo

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 09/06/2013 07:29

Another fun fact, egg shell is also sharp! I have a scar on my hand from being egged as a teenager. I am eternally grateful it was an egg that hit me rather than the fireworks they were throwing! Not at me personally btw, just at everyone! Bloody idiots!!

cherhorowitz · 09/06/2013 07:33

I was shocked when I heard about this. I watch it occasionally and while a part of me does think someone knew about it to let her get through with a box of eggs (she's not playing the violin with them, is she?) I also think she's a stupid cow. Ruining two young lads performance on the finale of a big show watched by millions is not on. It's selfish. Opportunistic and crap imo. She should be ashamed of herself but I commend the lads on their professionalism.

CelticPixie · 09/06/2013 09:00

YABU. It was fucking hilarious and it couldn't have happened to a nicer person. Simon Cowell is a narcissistic cunt rash. I used to like him, but now I really dislike the way he treats people. He seems to have no qualms about using them, and then tossing then aside when he gets bored. The two male singers were shit anyway and would never have come third if it were not for then"egg woman". Sounds like they owe her really.

Footface · 09/06/2013 09:02

I reckon it was a set up.

I think viewers were meant to feel sorry for them a d vote them to win, then Simon could sign them up to his label. They have the same type of music as el divo

Mrsrobertduvall · 09/06/2013 09:05

She should have done it when Ant and Dec were prattling on, not in the middle of an act.
She did look like a deranged lunatic.

digerd · 09/06/2013 09:06

Her aim must have been very good to hit her target. If that had been me, I'd have missed.

Sparklymommy · 09/06/2013 09:32

I think your right, how selfish of her to ruin the lads performance. However I was impressed with the way the show handled it. It could have really disrupted the show, instead the police were called and we had an impromptu break, and a few extra egg related jokes throughout the remainder of the show.

She was not only selfish but foolish to think it would enhance her own career. If she had been rejected before, the sensible thing to do is to take on board the criticism given and improve your act. Then come back and ace it. As George Sampson did a few years ago.

Sleep404 · 09/06/2013 09:40

There is never a good reason to do this. It's assault, pure and simple and I hope she gets a criminal record for her efforts.

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2013 09:43

Hard to get wound up about it. It was Simon Cowell shame it wasn't Amanda or Sinitta BGT is long past it's sell by date. Everyone knew the shadow thing would win.

Meh

AnneTwacky · 09/06/2013 09:44

I reckon it was a set up too.

Ruprekt · 09/06/2013 09:44

I was more surprised that she got a box of eggs onto the stage and was able to succeed in her plot!
