So I don't watch the show but comments on FB got me intrigued enough to google and then watch the clip.

I'm sure she thinks her prank was hilarious and that Simon Cowell deserved it, but regardless she took the limelight and attention off the people performing their act - which was potentially one of the biggest and most important moments of their life.

For what? ... Nothing.

Aibu to think she is just a selfish and immature woman?

Her string quartet played with Madness at one of the Olympic ceremonies, and she's been nominated for a BAFTA as a composer.

WTF would you jeopardise all that for 10 seconds of notoriety?

She must have a screw loose.

FutTheShuckUp · 09/06/2013 09:48

Its got to have been planned sorry, how did she manage to sneak a box of eggs onto stage in the first place then move across the stage and get chance to throw half a dozen eggs (because face it it could have been anything) before one half arsed security guy intervened.

Btw I love Simon Cowell, he is actually a very kind man who does loads for charity and has a heart of gold. But it still made me laugh when he got egged. It would have been funnier if they hit sourpuss talentless Amanda Holden though.

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2013 09:51

Yes Fut AH would have been appalled. Grin

I reckon it was a set up.

I think viewers were meant to feel sorry for them a d vote them to win, then Simon could sign them up to his label. They have the same type of music as el divo

I said this to DH last night
I am a cynical moo Grin

I didn't really think they were that great as singers actually and I hate that song

BGT is well past its sell by date do anything to liven it up is a bonus

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2013 09:53

Agreed Home. BGT is one huge yawn generally. I have said all along that the singers should naff off to X Factor.

Relaxedandhappyperson · 09/06/2013 09:54

YABU - it livened up the evening and actually didn't disrupt the performance at all: she was hustled off INCREDIBLY quickly and the singers just carried on - very well (best thing about their act) - entirely ignoring it.

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots · 09/06/2013 09:54

I've read elsewhere she did it in protest over some of the musicians who performed with the acts not getting paid a penny despite working and rehearsing all week for the show. I kind of admire her Grin. She was getting paid but did it on behalf of those who weren't. And Simon Cowell always deserves an egging.

VitoCorleone · 09/06/2013 09:55

Eh? I never saw this and i was watching [confused|

VitoCorleone · 09/06/2013 09:55

Confused even

Groovee · 09/06/2013 10:07

She was rejected last year from BGT. Her revenge? She may have ruined her career forever.

CheeryCherry · 09/06/2013 10:11

Do you really think security acted quickly? She seemed to have all the time in the world to throw 5 eggs. And yes, she could have been throwing anything. Wonder which tabloid will be first to buy her story Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2013 10:11

That's because you had gone to do other things rather than watch yet another load of singers Vito. Grin

FreudiansSlipper · 09/06/2013 10:13

I do not think she has ruined her career many producers dislike what Cowell stands for and are interested in real talent not about image and marketing

he is not that powerful though he likes to think he is

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2013 10:13

Yes, if she had egged the Queen she may have ruined her career but SC? No.

FutTheShuckUp · 09/06/2013 10:16

Ruined her career. Pah. She will say how remorseful she is, how Cowell made her confidence at an all time low, blah blah then the gullible public will go 'awww' and take her into their hearts.

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2013 10:17

She will be on Daybreak/This Morning/Loose Women for sure.

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots · 09/06/2013 10:20

I think she's enhanced her career. Who wouldn't want to egg SC? Grin

Jinsei · 09/06/2013 10:20

It's assault. Whether you like Simon Cowell/BGT or not is irrelevant. I don't think you can ever say that a crime is ok because the victim "deserved" it? Hmm

I didn't see the incident happen, but I think this woman has made an absolute idiot of herself. I also feel sorry for the performers whose act was disrupted.

I very much doubt that the whole thing was planned.

FutTheShuckUp · 09/06/2013 10:24

I wouldnt want to egg SC but he is dead sexy, covered in egg or not Blush

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2013 10:25

Well no charges are being brought so SC isn't too bothered.

Mrsrobertduvall · 09/06/2013 10:29

At least they weren't hardboiled.
That could have been nasty on his veneers.

OneStepCloser · 09/06/2013 10:31

Gah, this is fantastic for sleazy SC what great publicity. I wish BGT and SC would just disappear from our screens, CelticPixie and SparklingBrook have summed it up for me.

OneStepCloser · 09/06/2013 10:32

Mrsrobert, Grin

LadyBeagleEyes · 09/06/2013 10:35

As I said on the BGT thread, I think she has damaged her career.
If she's up for an audition, won't her potential employer look at what she did and choose someone else, as she looks totally unprofessional.
I think they would think twice if they are, say, casting for a West End show, or even an advert. No one wants a trouble maker.
