To think that no one should be allowed to wear a sandal without some proper foot grooming?!

It's that time of year again... Ah summer and its long days of sunshine. I so love it but the one thing I fear most in this change of season? The sandalled "foot claw"!

Suddenly everyone is wearing heel, toe and full foot exposed foot-wear. And the exposed foot often is a scary site to behold: yellowed toe nails, bunions, fungus, severely cracked heels, dry skin. I am constantly shocked by how many people so casually don sandals with their feet looking a hot mess. Certainly not for public view.

AIBU to expect people to invest in a little foot grooming in the summer? Have people not heard of a podiatrist or a pedicure?

This is an honest question as the flagrant disregard for foot hygiene drives me nuts.. But I may be the only person who feels this way?!

YABU none of your business! I find the more i wear sandals the more problems i have re cracked heels, i use creams and moisturiser but they don't tend to work, so sorry if i offend you (said in father Hacket stylee)

LEMisdisappointed · 02/06/2013 20:52

oh and i have no reason to visit a podaitrist and i can't afford a pedicure - so up yours!

Pascha · 02/06/2013 20:52

Constantly shocked?

Hmm

Can't say I ever look at other people's feet very hard.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 02/06/2013 20:54

A sandal? What about the other foot??

(sorry, couldn't resist!)

It's the same as going out with greasy hair IMO. Different people have different standards of personal grooming I guess.

YABmassivelyU

I have two children, one is a demanding baby. I have the monet but not the time to go for a pedicure. I am typing this over the baby. I can't have a shower that lasts for more than 2 minutes.

So I apologise if my disgusting feet upset you. But maybe, just don't look?

Munxx · 02/06/2013 20:54

Money, obviously not the Monet.

Shallishanti · 02/06/2013 20:55

You would be truly shocked if you saw father Hackett's feet, I bet Grin

tattle · 02/06/2013 20:56

Yabu.
Don't look at their feet if they offend you so much.

FunnysInLaJardin · 02/06/2013 20:56

you'd love me then. Today I thought 'oh I should put some varnish on my toes' and then thought nahh. Too much effort

NorthernLurker · 02/06/2013 20:56

You go around looking at people's feet that closely? Hmm

AnyaKnowIt · 02/06/2013 20:56

Why do you do round looking at other peoples feet? Confused

onepieceoflollipop · 02/06/2013 20:56

YABU

I am able to and prefer to groom my own feet.

I have a lovely friend, a little older than I am. She is troubled with arthritis and foot problems. Her feet always feel painfully hot so she generally wears sensible sandals. afaik she can't easily do a diy pedicure and possibly cannot afford a professional one. She prefers to be comfortable and good for her.

ballroomblitz · 02/06/2013 20:56

Grin are you my sister??

Can't say I spend much time looking at peoples feet unless I'm admiring their shoes.

StuntGirl · 02/06/2013 20:56

Give over.

heronsfly · 02/06/2013 20:57

YABU, Ive got a very painful bunion, I love wearing sandals because they cause a lot less pain than normal shoes.

williaminajetfighter · 02/06/2013 20:57

Whoa angry people. I have children too so understand. Grooming can be done at home.

There are people who come to work with the most disgusting foot claw feet and frankly I think it's unprofessional. Shouldn't they try to look groomed in an office envt when they are on a fairly good salary.

But then I must be a big snob. Shock

If you had the Money that would be cool because you could just look at the lovely flowers and feel all nice and relaxed without worrying about people looking at your feet. Which they really shouldn't be doing, at least not in a judgey-pants way. Freedom for feet! We have few enough days here where they can get out and feel the sunshine; why consign them further for rigid aesthetic notions?

Salmotrutta · 02/06/2013 20:57

It was only a matter of time before The Feet Police turned up.

Who has time for pedicures and stuff?

Plus, I can't bear people touching my feet.

Try looking people in the eye instead OP - much better manners.

YABU, people with ugly faces don't keep them covered, why should people with ugly feet?

Wallison · 02/06/2013 20:58

Whoops Monet not Money. Now it's all going circular!

garlicgrump · 02/06/2013 20:58

You've seen my feet!!! Shock Blush Sad

Never mind, you'll live Grin

ariane5 · 02/06/2013 20:58

I actually felt awkward today wearing sandals for the first time this year. Everybody else seemed to have had a pedicure and I have got horribly dry skin (have eczema) and no polish on as never have time to do it.

Luckily I have a buggy I can 'hide' behind so I doubt anybody noticed!

infamouspoo · 02/06/2013 20:59

dont look. I cant be arsed. Dry heels, unpainted toes. I'm 50, I dont care. There might even be hair on my toes Grin

Salmotrutta · 02/06/2013 20:59

What are foot claw feet?

Is that even a thing?

I never look at people's toes or heels - why would I. That would be weird.
