To be jealous of my younger sister's boobs

frogspoon · 31/05/2013 09:50

Younger sis and I are both in our 20s, no kids yet.

Younger sis got her boobs measured again the other day. Every time she gets measured, she seems to get bigger. She is now a 30DD/E.

I have been a 32B for the last 10 years (I do get measured every couple of years in hope I will have got bigger), and doubt I will get any bigger, at least until I have kids. I don't really want plastic surgery and I already wear padded bras.

To top it all off, she is also an inch taller than me.

AIBU to be jealous of her. (I probably am, as she has a higher risk of back problems etc)

YANBU. I would love to have bigger boobs, but sadly mother nature didn't bless me in that department. It's human nature to feel jealous, but just try making the most of what you've got. And as you say you are at a lower risk of getting back problems due to size. Also i've recently had my first baby and although my boobs increased in size during the pregnancy and for a while after, they've now gone back to their previous size :(

cozietoesie · 31/05/2013 09:56

You'll maybe find that she secretly wishes she had your ass or thighs or something. Don't worry about it - wait until she's had kids or is in her 40s and her boobs are somewhere round about her belly button. While yours are still pert.

meglet · 31/05/2013 09:57

Yabu. 32B is the best size Wink.

I'm 39, have bf 2 dc's, go running (with a tight sports bra obv) and mine are still neat little ballerina boobs.

EccentricElastic · 31/05/2013 09:58

Please don't be jealous of your sister, as bigger boobs are a pain, literally.

I used to be a lovely (for me) 36A and I was so happy with that. Now I'm a 38E (weight gain due to meds) and I hate it. I loathe that they're in my vision all the time, that they hurt my shoulders/back, that clothes don't look like they should as they're pulled out of shape....and more!

Rather than envy what you haven't got, just focus on what you HAVE got, and enjoy it.

CelticPromise · 31/05/2013 09:59

Where are you getting measured? Come on over to the bra intervention thread, you might be pleasantly surprised Wink

frogspoon · 31/05/2013 09:59

Trust me, no-one wishes they had my ass or thighs! Also note that she is a 30 chest, whereas I am a 32- she's generally slimmer all round, except for the massive boobs.

wait until she's had kids or is in her 40s and her boobs are somewhere round about her belly button. While yours are still pert.

I am secretly hoping for this Blush

The grass is always greener. I'm a 30h and would gladly swap mine for a much smaller pair.
Tbf, I don't know any of my sisters measurements, or when they get measured. I don't care either.

ICBINEG · 31/05/2013 10:03

just think how daft you would look with 4 boobs though...I suggest leaving them on your sister.

harryhausen · 31/05/2013 10:03

God, I'd LOVE to have a day with B cup boobsSmile

I'm a 36HH. In my 20's I was a GG. It's blighted my life if I'm honest. If I had the money and the guts I'd have a reduction.

Think of all things your boobs have going for them? No sweaty rashes under your boobs in hot weather. No backache. No red strap marks. No gaping buttoned shirts at the front. You can wear any dress type, especially backless, strapless etc.

Small boobs are fab!Smile

sugarandspite · 31/05/2013 10:05

Go and get measured at bravissimo - you're practically guaranteed to end up as a 30C at least!

specialsubject · 31/05/2013 10:05

what a waste of emotional energy. Jealousy about boobs is the reaction of 12 year olds.

you have a healthy body. Worrying about the lumps of fat on your chest is really the sign of not enough in your life.

any size works for breast feeding.

Yes, I suppose I should be grateful for these things.

Not true at all! Lots of dresses look ridiculous on a person with small boobs, the fabric sags and flops over the hole which my boobs do not fill. And strapless dresses fall down without boobage to hold them up!

Thank you for enlightening me to the hazards of large boobs, and making me a bit more grateful for my little ones.

...the fabric sags and flops over the hole which my boobs do not fill......

You're buying clothes which aren't well cut then.

LadyBeagleEyes · 31/05/2013 10:15

Sorry, but what specialsubject said.

frogspoon · 31/05/2013 10:16

Not really, women's clothes are designed for women, for which the average size is apparently a 34DD.

Therefore it is logical that a person with a cup size 3 sizes smaller (30B) than this cannot fit a normal piece of clothing.

OP posts:
frogspoon · 31/05/2013 10:16

32B I meant, not 30

P.S. Going out now shopping (and to get my boobs measured, just to check that they are STILL a 32B), so if I don't respond to your messages for a while, that's probably why.

I just cannot relate to this at all, so yeah, what specialsubject said.

I got semi-flamed on a recent thread for saying that I think large breasts can look a tad trashy. I feel bad for thinking it, but sorry, I do.

I'd hate to have big breasts. You don't see the likes of Audrey Hepburn, Vivien Leigh, Cate Blanchett, Rachel Weisz, et al wielding huge mammeries in their paths. The fact that some of these women are dead means obviously you don't see them, but YKWIM.

Understated is elegant.

Awaits flaming.

mrsjay · 31/05/2013 10:23

I bet her boobs are really heavy and when she is not so young and pert they will be down to her knees Grin

LadyBeagleEyes · 31/05/2013 10:23

You also sound a bit obsessed.
Why do you and your sister keep measuring your boobs?

sjuperyoni · 31/05/2013 10:23

I used to be a 34c i loved my 'perfect' boobs but so so badly wanted my big sisters huge boobs just to see what it'd be like. I'm now a 42e through pregnancy and it is bloody awful. The damn things are everywhere i am constantly 'fixing' them i.e lifting the floppy buggers out my way grrr! I hope to god they go down after this dc- they didn't the last time :(

Ya/nbu to want big fat boobies i still love other peoples it's just my own i hate i can't make up my mind!

frogspoon · 31/05/2013 10:27

Why do you and your sister keep measuring your boobs?

Well, the professionals say you should have them measured every 6-8 months, and I only get mine measured every 2 years, because they never grow. So I'm actually getting measured less than I should, not more.

Now I really should go out shopping...

StatisticallyChallenged · 31/05/2013 10:31

You are quite right to get fitted regularly as size can change pretty quickly. But please don't get fitted at M&S! :)

noblegiraffe · 31/05/2013 10:39

I'm currently bfing so have bigger boobs than normal, I have a cleavage that I'm not used to.
When I eat biscuits I spend half my time fishing crumbs out of my bra. They just fall straight in! It's very annoying.

ENormaSnob · 31/05/2013 10:43

Does anyone really care what other women's breasts are like?

The comment about large breasts being trashy is really really hurtful tbh.

My breasts are to feed my baby and then at some point in the future will probably be removed altogether. Being told I also look trashy is just uncalled for.
