To be jealous of my younger sister's boobs

frogspoon · 31/05/2013 09:50

Younger sis and I are both in our 20s, no kids yet.

Younger sis got her boobs measured again the other day. Every time she gets measured, she seems to get bigger. She is now a 30DD/E.

I have been a 32B for the last 10 years (I do get measured every couple of years in hope I will have got bigger), and doubt I will get any bigger, at least until I have kids. I don't really want plastic surgery and I already wear padded bras.

To top it all off, she is also an inch taller than me.

AIBU to be jealous of her. (I probably am, as she has a higher risk of back problems etc)

But please don't get fitted at M&S!

I'm going to Westfield London, where would you recommend?

Rigby and Peller. You don't have to buy there but they will fit you properly

btw - if you have historically been fitted at M&S - you most likely aren't the size you think

I like my boobs, I have good boobs and an ok figure, but my sister looks like a pin up model.
She is stunning anyway, but she has a naturally perfect figure and perfect boobs.
I mean she literally looks like a pin up drawing, I am incredibly jealous of her, but I adore her so it doesn't bother me.

frogspoon · 31/05/2013 10:54

I have historically been fitted at la senza which probably isn't much better.

Rigby and Peller? Really? I was always told by family that they were only for women with large breasts and they wouldn't have anything suitable. Sis had hers fitted at boux avenue, who are pretty new and I don't really know anything about them.

YABU. I miss my perky 32Bs. I loved having 32B boobs. They suited me. They fit me perfectly and had a lovely shape. I've had two kids and now sure they're bigger, but they also have no shape left in them :(

WorraLiberty · 31/05/2013 10:55

just think how daft you would look with 4 boobs though...I suggest leaving them on your sister.

Korma- it is no different to saying that 20 year olds with good skin will end up wrinkled, whereas those who have suffered with oily skin and breakouts will look fantastic when they are older.

Perhaps neither are right, but nobody's perfect.

Cheers Don Confused

Erm, you get the chest you're given? Noone chose (unless silicone is involved) to have big breasts or small ones.

Am just going to swagger off with my trashy GGs now.

ENormaSnob · 31/05/2013 11:05

I think if you are wishing negativity or using hurtful insults about the way other women look, then you need to take a good look at yourself.

You may be ok on the outside but the inside is coming across as hideously unpleasant.

I may look trashy with my large saggy boobs but I am not bitter and twisted.

StatisticallyChallenged · 31/05/2013 11:06

La Senza and Boux both have issues with the standard of their fitting. They tend to use a method which results in far too big a back and too small a cup - SorrelForbes secret shopped La Senza and there is a reveiw of boux on another bra blog which was fairly scathing.

According to their website Rigby do from an A cup so you will be fine. As I say they are expensive though. Unfortunately there isn't one at Westfield but if you have an accessible John Lewis they are normally fairly reliable. The others at Westfield are all a bit hit and miss - Debenhams can be ok sometimes but it is store dependent.

Alternatively - guidance on how to measure yourself properly is here thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk

ENormaSnob · 31/05/2013 11:08

Actually scratch that, I am bitter and twisted at the mo.

I wish a plague of fat cells and cellulite to descend upon you.

And I hope your small tits sag as much as anyone else's.

StatisticallyChallenged · 31/05/2013 11:09

dondrapers most of us have the boobs we were "given" and it's nonsense like that that drives women to have major surgery (reductions)

I've got small boobs and they've gone a bit south thanks to age and pregnancies.

Strangely though, I didn't like them when I was in my 20s (when they were very perky and firm and considerably bigger thanks to the pill), but I like them now. They've fed two babies and they suit my small stature and frame. They look nice, my OH likes them.

I have a couple of friends with very large norks, who recently implied that, although they are envious that I'm slimmer than them, they have bigger boobs which I probably envy. I didn't have the heart to point out that, no, I don't covet their chests because those size boobs might look out of proportion on me as a very small person. They suit the women in question and I am glad they're proud of them though!

OP, I think, like many of us, that you will find a greater acceptance of your body as you age, and especially if you ever become a mother.

KitCat26 · 31/05/2013 11:39

Listen to Statistically, she has words of wisdom.

Also, I know how you feel being envious of a sibling. My older brother got ID'd the other day buying booze. He is nearly 34. I haven't been ID'd since I was 17. Sadly the youthful face gene skipped me. Envy

OctopusPete8 · 31/05/2013 11:49

Bigger boobs fill out tops better , but smaller boobs stand up better without a bra , don't be jealous embrace the B.

I', an E/F and I would like bigger, but smaller boobs look better braless.

Perihelion · 31/05/2013 11:51

IMO B is not small. I am a B now, used to be AA...that's small.

MarcelineTheVampireQueen · 31/05/2013 11:54

Ah I remember that thread Don, ridiculous statement both then and now. It's good to know that I'm trashy though, it probably explains the stares, laughing, jokes, the people who grab and pinch them and expect it to be okay with me, at least I know now I brought it on my self. Do you have any money? Could you lend me a few grand so I can get a reduction to fit in with your expectations? I'll wait for our reply while I cry with pain later because I'm so trashy.

One for the shit list..

thebody · 31/05/2013 11:58

If you haven't got kids why do you keep getting them measured?

What's that all about?

StatisticallyChallenged · 31/05/2013 11:59

thebody boobs change size and not just due to having kids - the pill, weight fluctuation, change in diet, exercise, just cos they felt like it....mine have changed size loads of times

TallGiraffe · 31/05/2013 12:08

I was a 28FF pre-children. I was once told by a lady in a department store that they didn't sell bras for women like me and I should go to a specialist shop. She made me feel like such a freak for something I can do nothing about.

Be grateful for normal sized boobs.

AnyFucker · 31/05/2013 12:15

Op, are you always so shallow ? Hmm

WizardofOs · 31/05/2013 12:20

I am a 34DD and my sister is a 36A.

She has not spoken to me for 25 years (untrue).

She actually does not appear to give shiny shit and at least she can wear vest tops.

samandi · 31/05/2013 12:23

Personally I prefer B cups to the thought of DD/E ones. Far more comfortable I'd imagine.
