Just curious to see what others weigh who are the same height as me, and are you happy with your weight?

I'm trying to lose a few pounds so just thinking about all this.

Apologies if I'm being too nosy!

I am 165cm and am 10st 13lb
in my forties so want to lose a few pounds to feel good.

MrsMagpieCovetsShinyThings · 26/05/2013 12:35

Stupid tiredness, I'm 93kg from 110kg per pregnancy at 9 weeks after birth. Sold myself short there! Grin

NightmareWalking · 26/05/2013 12:52

I'm 5'3" and a half and am 8 st 12, this is chubby for my build. 8st4 looks best on me so that's my target at the mo.

ExasperatedSigh · 26/05/2013 13:46

JennyEnglishTwo totally agree that it's about how you feel. I don't diet and deny myself nothing, just cut back on sweets and booze if I feel myself getting a bit too heavy for me.

The massive variation in good looking weights described on this thread should be ample refutation to the idea that we are all starving ourselves in pursuit of an unrealistic ideal.

WorraLiberty · 26/05/2013 13:50

I'm 5'3" and my weight ranges from 8st 3lb to 8st 7lb.

I'm happy with it but if I find myself creeping over 8st 7lb, I reign it in a bit and normally cut out booze for a while.

Startail · 26/05/2013 14:08

Too much, I keep well away from scales. I can't be bothered to worry about it. If I can get into size 16 clothes, that's good enough for me.

forevergreek · 26/05/2013 14:25

5'4 somewhere between 7.5 and 8 stone. I could probably do with gaining a few pounds but I seem to find it hard to gain weight. Heaviest was 9stone 1 when pregnant

forevergreek · 26/05/2013 14:28

Oh and Iv never eaten 'just a lettuce leaf'! Tbh that's a little rude.

I eat healthily generally but eat whatever I fancy. Lots of healthy fats, v little processed food.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 26/05/2013 14:50

I'm about 4'4.5. I've not weighed myself that recently but around 10.7. I do know my measurements cos I recently bought a dress from them, and my waist is about 29 inches, my bust is 36, hips 41. I have a few size 10 clothes, a few 14s and a lot of 12s.

I find my shape changes hugely if I eat more healthily, but my weight doesn't seem to drop very much, so I prefer to go on measurements than weight.

WorraLiberty · 26/05/2013 14:51

The half a lettuce leaf jibe is just pure ignorance and stereotyping

The same as 'fat people stuff their faces'

It's rude and makes the person saying it look like an utter twat.

MrsMelons · 26/05/2013 15:40

I am 5ft 4 and about 9st3, would like to be 8st13/9st. Can go down to about 8st9 and look ok.

I am happier when I am more toned though as can afford to put on a good few pounds without looking that much different. At the moment I am not very toned and hate how I look.

Fakebook · 26/05/2013 15:56

I'm 5ft4" and weighed 63kg in March, then lost 5kg to morning sickness and am now still 58kg. I still hadn't lost all my last pregnancy weight when I got pregnant again this time. My weight usually fluctuates between 55-60kg. I still have a flabby belly though that doesn't shift.

5''3ish (maybe a bit less, not sure) and 7 stone 2.

MrsMelons · 26/05/2013 20:58

Dancingqueen17, I was 6 1/2 stone and 5ft4, I was very very thin and could not see I looked any different either. I always felt like everyone's fat friend.

I am so much better now, I still have many issues but think I have a normal(ish) perspective. Please please please get some help, even if you are not ill medically at that weight, mentally things aren't ok. Please don't take offence to that, I have been there!

frissonpink · 26/05/2013 20:59

I'm fat too. 5'4 and 10 stone 9. Bloody babies ;)

My normal pre pregnancy weight is about 9 stone 7 so that's where I need to be.

DD is only 5 months however!

clarinetV2 · 26/05/2013 21:24

I'm 5' 3 and a half, and I've struggled with weight since my teens. I've been eating carefully (after years of yo-yo dieting) since last summer when I was 15 stone and a size 24. I'm now down to 10 stone 2 and a size 14/16 which is the lightest and smallest I've been in my adult life. Ideally I'd like to get down to 9 stone 10 and a definite 14, but to be honest I'm so chuffed to have got this far on a rather idiosyncratic but (I think!) long-term sustainable healthy eating/increased exercise plan that I don't really mind whether I manage to shift the rest. Am intrigued by the size 14s and 12s who weigh more than I do - I'm exercising regularly but I've still got lots of surplus around the middle, and my thunder thighs don't seem to going anywhere anytime soon!

frissonpink · 26/05/2013 21:34

I was just going to say the same though Clarinet!

At 10 stone 9 I'm a size 12.

At 9 stone 10, I'm a size 10!

At my lightest (which was 9 stone) I was a size 8 and looked ill!! No way could my frame get down to the likes of 8 stone.

wonderstuff · 26/05/2013 21:38

I'm about 5'4" and 7st4 I'd like to put on a stone, being able to give blood would be nice. I too have people ask me if I'm anorexic, I'm not, I've never tried to diet, been the same weight all my adult life excluding pg and when breast feeding. Before the kids I quite liked my figure, I'm the same weight but I've dropped two cup sizes and my belly sticks out and wobbles.

blondefriend · 26/05/2013 21:42

I'm 5ft 3.5in. I am 11st 3lb at the moment and have never weighed less than 10 stone and have been up to 13.5 stone (non-pregnant). I have reached "goal" at weight watchers a few times but always go back up. I'm aware that I'm higher then I want to be at the moment and need to lose about 1/2 stone. I would love to lose more but TBH I am happy at being about 10.5 st, I've never been much lower and find that my eating styles become unhealthy as I gain/lose weight. If I go above 11st I start to eat more junk food, if I drop below 10.5st I start to miss meals and worry constantly about calories etc (weirdly converse I know).
I have an hour glass figure with 32G boobs and at 10.5 st my waist is less than 0.85 so generally I'm satisfied with my health and my OH is more than happy at that weight although I know most people would be unhappy at that BMI.

Clarinet - I am wearing size 12 jeans at the moment. Although they are a bit tighter than I would like there is no "overspill" if you know what I mean and they are loose if I reach your weight. I mainly shop at Next and M&S and think their sizes are very generous and body shapes do vary as well.

MrsMelons · 26/05/2013 21:42

Frissonpink - at 9st I am a size 10/12. It is so bizarre how peoples build/body shape varies even at the same height/weight.

ouryve · 26/05/2013 21:44

163cm and 10 stone 5 (No idea what I am in kg - I have a mental block in terms of thinking of the weight of people in kg)

I would like to be half a stone lighter and I'm slowly getting there.

MrsMelons · 26/05/2013 21:47

blondefriend, I guess this is why BMI is only a guide. It really is not correct for some people.

I was 10st 13 after having DS1, I was a 14/16, I find Next clothes on me need to be a size smaller but again this depends on someones body shape, my mum has a bigger waist in proportion to the rest of her so Next clothes fit the same as everywhere else on her.

My measurements are 30" under bust, 29" waist, 34" hips. Boobs - no idea of the actual measurement but am a 32H.

WorraLiberty · 26/05/2013 21:50

I think it depends on how/where you carry your weight and also what style of clothes you were.

For example, you could easily be a size 12 if all you wear are loose dresses or leggings/joggers with elasticated waistbands.

But it doesn't mean you've be able to squeeze into size 12 jeans/trousers and do the button and zip up.
