Just curious to see what others weigh who are the same height as me, and are you happy with your weight?

I'm trying to lose a few pounds so just thinking about all this.

Apologies if I'm being too nosy!

5' 4" and 11 stone and 50ish.
Was 9 and a half for years, then kids which sent it up to 11, then naturally back to 10 stone. Menopause has me at 11 now.
Trying the 5:2 diet to get to 10, and a more healthy bmi. Not working in terms of weight loss yet.

Catbiscuit · 26/05/2013 09:14

I'm 5'4" and I weigh about 9 stone. I'm a size 10 and happy with that.
It's my default weight, I don't diet but my body always seems to settle here. I eat a lot though so will see what happens when I stop breast feeding!

5'4 and 12st. Baby is 5 months old and I am aiming to get back to 9st ish but the weekends keep ruining me!

Theas18 · 26/05/2013 09:27

Umm 5 4 and heavier than most. Trying to go inthe right direction by moving more and eating less. Sod starving myself.

Can't get my head round all the " feel fat/ have rolls round my middle / uncomfortable" etc comments from the sub 10st brigade here- surely if you are a normal BMI you need to accept that actually, it's ok not to be a minute size? What message are your Dds getting from this? Are you the " just a lettuce leaf for me" ladies?

Off to fattys anonymous.

fatlazymummy · 26/05/2013 09:50

theas there's more to being a healthy/desirable weight than just being in the normal BMI range. It isn't healthy to carry too much fat in the midsection, as that indicates there may be too much fat around the internal organs.
Not to mention, 'normal' BMI is quite a large range ie from 18.5 to 24.9. From memory (can't be arsed to google) that's a range of about 2.5 stones at 5'4. Do you really think people don't feel different at say 8 stones to 10 stones?
And no, we don't have just eat lettuce leaves. What a silly thing to say.
The message I give to my daughter is the same as what I give to my sons. Physical health and fitness is the goal, not a number on the scale or a clothes label

WrySmile · 26/05/2013 09:57

Am about 10 stone, I think. Should be half a stone lighter, but am reasonably fit and deny myself zero, food and drink wise!
Cheese and wine and cheese and lovely bread and olive oil and wine...and cheese Grin

melliebobs · 26/05/2013 09:59

I'm 78kg
The lightest I've been in a looooong time is 73kg. Which still made me 'overweight' but I get really muscle-ie when I exercise regularly so don't let the weight as a figure drag me down (too much)

sweetkitty · 26/05/2013 10:07

5'4" too and about 8 1/2 stone just now which is the lightest I have been in a while. Was 10 2 prior to DC and that was too big, was 9 3 last year and didn't feel right.

I am small boned so skinny arms and legs all my weight is around my bum and hips which are so out of proportion to the rest if me Hmm

lupo · 26/05/2013 10:10

I am 5.4 and bang on 9 stone, its ok but I liked being 8.10- too hard to maintain that though as before I was totally carb free and very strict.
I hate going over 9 - esp at time of the month.

Cavort · 26/05/2013 10:30

I'm just under 5'4" and weighed around 9st10ish pre-pregnancy (currently 35+4 with DC1 and have put on 22lbs so far) and usually wear a size 10.

This is my 'natural' weight as I don't believe in dieting and eat exactly what I like, although I am reasonably active.

I once went down to around 8st4lbs (due to stressful life situation) and I looked awful. My face was gaunt and I was completely flat-chested. I think anything under 9.5 stone is too thin to suit me.

I am interested to see what happens to my weight and body shape post-baby!

LarvalFormOfOddSock · 26/05/2013 10:42

I'm 5 foot 5 (near enough?) and weigh 7 st 8 lb. Not enough, I know, but the most I've ever been is 8 st (excluding pregnancy). I'm struggling with depression and panic disorder though.

Just a note...could the "just eating lettuce leaves" brigade please think before they post such ignorant and insensitive comments? There are many reasons why someone might be slim. Thank you.

Whocansay · 26/05/2013 10:44

I'm 5'4" and 8st10 - 9st. I wear a size 10. I find it fascinating to see the different sizes at the same height/weight!

I'm a classic 'apple' shape, which means any weight I do have goes straight on my belly. Which means I have invested in Spanx!

patienceisvirtuous · 26/05/2013 10:50

I'm 5'5 and weigh about 11st. I'm sure each boob weighs about a stone each though :o

cleangreens · 26/05/2013 10:56

Yeah I hate the 'lettuce leaf' brigade too Hmm.

I went out for a curry last night and ate as much as the next man. Have had porridge, toast and honey plus a handful of Maltesers Grin and two cups of tea for breakfast. I'm 7 st 5lbs and haven't varied (as I said up-thread) for 30 years.

I hate sweeping statements and assumptions. I never sit still and am quite an anxious person which I think does help keep me skinny - although I would like to weigh a bit more as I do look too thin. Have tried over the years to put on weight but it ain't going to happen so I just accept it Smile.

landofsoapandglory · 26/05/2013 11:01

5'4" and 8st4, size 8-10. It's where I feel my most comfortable. I have been 7st7 before and realise that is too thin and I was 9stone and that was too heavy. I have a tiny frame, my arms and legs are very skinny.

IsabellaPasta · 26/05/2013 11:01

I'm 5.4. Hover between 10 stone 7 and 10 stone 10. Ideal weight is 10 stone as I look scrawny below that (small framed). I am 40 next month. I eat pretty low fat/ calorie Monday to Thursday and don't deny myself over the weekends. Probably should though in order to lose that 10lbs but I am mostly a size 12 and I think that's not a bad size for someone knocking on 40. Into my 3rd week of C25K in an attempt to address the aforementioned 10lbs but I am looking for fitness rather than dress size.

Mimishimi · 26/05/2013 11:02

I'm an apple too :(. Forgot to mention I'm exactly 5'4". I am happy with my legs and derrière. I am happy with my arms and chest. But I worry about my midsection because they say that's the worst kind of fat to have - internal organ fat rather than fat just below the skin like many pear shaped women have.

GreyTS · 26/05/2013 11:03

5'4 and 56kgs, usual weight is 50-53kgs so got a bit of a shock when I weighed myself recently. I knew that I had been eating too much the last few months but cutting down slowly and should be back to normal in 5/6 weeks.

GreyTS · 26/05/2013 11:05

Oh and am an apple shaped size 10, sometimes 8, only ever put on weight around the middle which looks awful and is so unhealthy. Bum, legs and arms are in good shape

mumofweeboys · 26/05/2013 11:08

Im 5'5 and 13st which is about a 16 for me. My happy weight is 11st but my weight always goes up and down. Im only happy with my body shape if I exercise. Iv never been under 10st even at 10st I felt a bit too thin.

Letticetheslug · 26/05/2013 11:08

5ft 4.5 and 13st 11 ( was 15st). Still need to lose more.

However even at goal weight I was 10st 4 and when I was in my twenties, cycling 16 miles a day and doing a manual job, I was 9st 12 ish and a size12/14.

Look really haggard under 9.5 stone.

peanutMD · 26/05/2013 11:13

15st 7lbs and shrinking.
