The Rooney's New Baby 'Klay' - Brother to 'Kai'

MomsNetCurtains · 21/05/2013 11:50

I've never seen Clay spelt with a K.

Maybe they are starting their own Kardashian style family. All the 'K's...

Has anyone ever seen it spelt like this?

Just proves that you can't buy class. Rich chavs IMHO

Anyone with any class, or good breeding would not be so scathing and nasty about other people's choice of names for children. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but there are dignified ways of expressing yourself.

Think you ought to look in the mirror before you label others.....

LegoAcupuncture · 21/05/2013 13:57

The name itself doesn't bother me, it's the fact it is similar to Kai.

AKAK81 · 21/05/2013 13:58

Threesy would you like to point out where I suggested you were a chav? I simply commented on your grasp of written English. But you loathe people like me so that's OK.

Crash I'm not sure where I called the kids chavs? Their parents are chavs though so it's likely that they'll grow up with the same values.

MomsNetCurtains · 21/05/2013 13:59

meddie I did actually mean to smile at Kewel also but DP came home with a bottle of wine and I pressed 'post message' and jumped on went to get some wine. Smile

In starting this light hearted thread...I was not looking for the Rooney's validation or had even entertained the thought that they cared a jot what I or anyone else thought of the awful name of their second child. It's just a chat amongst people.

I would very likely have the same conversation with people I know in RL.

It is not to be taken seriously. Smile

LegoAcupuncture YY I agree 100%. It's naff.

i don't deny it's existence i do think it's mindless idiots though that hold these so called name=class in life views!!

Anyway in sure colleen and wayne don't give a rats arse about all the idiots on here that think their opinion will make any difference to them, i am sure kai and klay will do just great in life with the education and life style their parents can afford to give them, colleen comes from a lovely caring family and i wish them every happiness,

can't imagine how they would feel to be over the moon at announcing the birth of their child and find out people are tearing into them labeling them and their children over a name that has no impact on anyone

MummytoKatie · 21/05/2013 14:02

I've nothing against "K" names (see my user name) but I do think the poor lad will spend his life having to spell it.

And if you say "Kai and Klay" more than about 3 times you generally get in a right muddle!

AKAK81 · 21/05/2013 14:10

LayMizz if that's your idea of scathing and nasty then you need to get out more!

I'm quite happy with what I see in the mirror thank you!

crashdoll · 21/05/2013 14:14

AKA You clearly do not know what chav even means!

MomsNetCurtains · 21/05/2013 14:20

MummytoKatie My niece is called Katie. Smile Love that name. She's about to turn 8. Grin

I have nothing against 'K' names.

threesypeesy Take a Xanax maybe? I have said nothing re names=class; you have made that assumption yourself. Confused

I just know that nobody I know would go for those names. And I can assure you that their children will be given the childhood and the opportunities equal to that of the Rooney children. Uneducated footballers do not have the monopoly on having money.

Out of interest, are you a friend of Coleen's? NOTE: Coleen with one L, not 2. Smile

threesypeesy · 21/05/2013 14:28

i wasn't refering to you op Confused at all i was refering to another posters comments, so no thanks i don't think i need a xanax!!!

no i am not a friend of hers i just hate people thinking they can label others and their children for something that has no impact on them.

he may be uneducated but he is also a multi-millionaire so i am sure their kids will be just fine, and the best education money can buy

AKAK81 · 21/05/2013 14:31

I know exactly what chav means both in its original definition and in its later more generalised usage. Clearly they're not the feral underclass living in a council house and terrorising the neighbourhood but chav still applies. I quite like the term 'moneyed chav' it also applies to many of scrotes in my part of the world for whom the be all and end all in life is an Audi A3 diesel or BMW 1 series diesel in 'aspirational white'

marzipanned · 21/05/2013 14:34

AKAK81 I had to laugh about the cars. I get the dirtiest looks at my gym because of the car I drive (which is crap, but I love it) The worst offenders are definitely those in white 4x4s.

crashdoll · 21/05/2013 14:38

"the feral underclass living in a council house and terrorising the neighbourhood"

I do wonder what values people like AKA are teaching their children. How vile!

TooTabooToBoo · 21/05/2013 14:38

Baby 3, Klamidyah Rooney - nawww! Wink

TooTabooToBoo · 21/05/2013 14:40

Oooo, I live on a council estate, am I the feral underclass? I'm so proud

crashdoll · 21/05/2013 14:45

I bet you terrorise the neighbourhood with your dog and 6 kids too TooTaboo!

TooTabooToBoo · 21/05/2013 14:47

well, what else is there to do when Jezza Kyle's finished? Grin

GrendelsMum · 21/05/2013 14:51

Clay / Clayton seems to be quite a popular name in the US - I've known a Clayton and a Clay, and tbh, they were both rather posh and extremely well-educated. When I first met Clay, I did think it was an odd name, but came round to it after working with him for a while.

So all they've done is taken a US name and changed the spelling a bit, which is not that odd...

AKAK81 · 21/05/2013 14:53

No no you misunderstand me. I'm not suggesting that people in council housing are a feral underclass. What I'm saying is that there is a feral underclass that spoils it for everyone else - you know the hardcore chav neighbour from hell type who choose benefits as a lifestyle and have a teenage brood who all have ASBOs. I am NOT tarring everybody on benefits or in social housing with the same brush.

ComposHat · 21/05/2013 14:53

I do think the poor lad will spend his life having to spell it

If he takes after his dad that may prove ti be tricky.

MomsNetCurtains · 21/05/2013 14:59

GrendelsMum We've covered that bit upthread. Smile YY it is popular in the US.

threesy I thought you were aiming your comments at me for starting this thread. Sincere apologies.

scarletforya · 21/05/2013 15:03

Kai, Klay......Kringe!

TooTabooToBoo · 21/05/2013 16:34

AKA - yes there are a few like that round here, thankfully they are the minority.

Just a shame that so many (inc on MN) do equate social housing to feral underclass. They tend to be short on brain cells though so we can point and laugh at their stupidity Wink

Ashoething · 21/05/2013 16:37

Its a horrible name. I do judge it and so will many people-that's life.
