The Rooney's New Baby 'Klay' - Brother to 'Kai'

I've never seen Clay spelt with a K.

Maybe they are starting their own Kardashian style family. All the 'K's...

Has anyone ever seen it spelt like this?

Having trouble saying Klay. It's harder than some words to get your mouth around. I was going to call one of my children Clem but then I tried saying it and it wasn't as easy as it looked.

Kai Klay Klan

LaRegina · 21/05/2013 12:09

AmazingBouncingFerret · 21/05/2013 12:09

squeakytoy · 21/05/2013 12:10

I do know it's pronounced Ki, I still think they sound similar.
I wonder if they have a girls name picked out.

TSSDNCOP · 21/05/2013 12:14

It's a stupid name. I don't give a tiny rats wank if that gives MN a bad name. It'd still be a stupid name even if it was correctly spelled Clay reflecting the connection with Cassius Clay.

MomsNetCurtains · 21/05/2013 12:14

DebsMorgan Oh goodness, no I don't hate K names at all.

We have friends with 2 young DCs and 2 dogs....all beginning with the letter J. Including Mum and Dad. Each to their own, but IMO its naff.

"I wonder if they have a girls name picked out."

I am going to put my money on Kia... Grin

Onesleeptillwembley · 21/05/2013 12:19

Clay would be bad enough, but Klay? That truly is awful. Krap, even. They arent really known for their taste or class though, are they? However I've had a bet with a friend than they'll have a daughter next and call her loam.

MomsNetCurtains · 21/05/2013 12:19

squeakytoy Grin Nice!

CommanderShepard · 21/05/2013 12:22

Kleptomaniac...

boschy · 21/05/2013 12:24

is there a K name prejudice tho? I mean, Karina is a beautiful name. Kevin (pronounced KeVAN) is popular in France, Kerry is a pretty name, etc etc etc. I think its the intentional mis-spelling that annoys me.

CommanderShepard · 21/05/2013 12:24

If he follows in his dad's footsteps will the tabloids use headlines like Feet of Klay?

MomsNetCurtains · 21/05/2013 12:26

Boschy I think its the intentional mis-spelling that annoys me.

YY! You've hit the nail on the head for me. Call your child what you want - this is just a bit of fun - but it is the intentional use of a K that makes me cringe.

threesypeesy · 21/05/2013 12:31

i think it is a lovely name, personally i hate "normal" names and all the so called snobbery that goes with it, it its not you're child it has no impact on you!!!

my dds would hate a run of the mill common name!!

squeakytoy · 21/05/2013 12:41

oops sorry Orla.. I typed it into google and it came up on autofeed as Klu..

Blush
MomsNetCurtains · 21/05/2013 12:41

I wanted to be called Summer when I was about 12/13...my poor parents called me it too till I saw sense.

I'd still quite like to be called Summer. As long as it was spelt properly! Pedantic about spelling...
