BBC saying that Thatcher has died following a stroke

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 08/04/2013 21:44

She fucked up the country all on her own, did she ?

Theicingontop · 08/04/2013 21:45

Because nobody voted for her or anything.

ParadiseChick · 08/04/2013 21:45

The clue is in the name of the job, PRIME minister. The buck stops there.

FreudiansSlipper · 08/04/2013 21:46

I am not surprised some people are gloating about her death

what is the need to show respect

did she for the many who's lives she tore apart no

and as for mn gettting bad press oh please they need to monitor themselves more bullying does go on here and that is far worse than a few gloating posts

WorraLiberty · 08/04/2013 21:46

There's a difference in the subject of her politics arising and discussions surrounding that PC

The subject today is her death - not her politics.

Yet some people have taken that news and turned it into a chance to spout their pent up venom, before her body's even cold.

That's their prerogative but it does make them look pretty crass and vile imo.

Fargo86 · 08/04/2013 21:46

All Thatcher did was make people take responsibility for themselves. Some people still haven't got over the shock of it. They expected to have jobs for life, regardless of the demand for what they were doing. The world changes. There is no possible way that we'd have the same kind of economy today as we did in the 1970s. Even if Labour had been in power continuously from 1979 to now and "New Labour" had never happened, there still wouldn't be millions of people working in mines and factories in this country in 2013.

JustGiveMeFiveMinutes · 08/04/2013 21:47

DH has gone for a drink with his mate to celebrate Hmm

Then again, he lived in poverty because of his dad being blacklisted in the 70s /80s.

ParadiseChick · 08/04/2013 21:47

Yeah, because votes are always representative aren't then? I refer you to my point about Scotland, and indeed a lot of the 'north'

redlac · 08/04/2013 21:48

Scotland certainly didn't vote for her and the Tories have been non existent since

AnyFucker · 08/04/2013 21:49

That is a naive viewpoint

I hate Cameron very much, but we voted him in (the collective we) or should I say we were too lazy to keep him out

We have a collective responsibility for that. Some would say we get the government we deserve

ParadiseChick · 08/04/2013 21:50

Spoken like a true Thacthorite there Fargo.

Born in 86 were you?.

Those 4 years of your life with her inpower must have been frightfully awful for you.

JustGiveMeFiveMinutes · 08/04/2013 21:51

I don't think the constituencies where DH and I grew up (separate places) have ever had a Tory MP.

ParadiseChick · 08/04/2013 21:52

What an idiotic point, speak for yourself any fucker.

ParadiseChick · 08/04/2013 21:53

I repeat, Scotland has one Tory mp right now. We voted, loud and clear, does not make a difference does it?

redlac · 08/04/2013 21:56

My constituency mp used to Michael fucking Forsyth but thankfully we came to our senses

AnyFucker · 08/04/2013 21:58

I repeat , Baroness Thatcher has not been active in politics for many years. I fail to see why the death of a woman can trigger such vitriol, particularly about issues that were not at the forefront of her time in power

Miners, poll tax, the privatisation of national services, granted

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 08/04/2013 21:58

Have some class, OP - or perhaps a little dignity if you think you can manage it. Hmm

ParadiseChick · 08/04/2013 22:00

Do be sure to present us with a list of things we're allowed to get angry about will you?

FreudiansSlipper · 08/04/2013 22:01

AF simply because she ruined so many communities that took years to rebuild if they have done but you can not get back that time that was ruined for so so many

that is why people still feel such hatred and who has the right to question why they still feel such anger towards her

TigerSwallowtail · 08/04/2013 22:03

There are many others who won't shed a tear either OP, you're not alone, there has plenty of people partying in Glasgow's George Square today at the news.

ParadiseChick · 08/04/2013 22:03

Do you think the impact of her decisions just went into the ether when she left number 10? Do you think it was a case of people going phew, glad that's over, lets get back to normal ?

There are areas, families and people who have never recovered.

AnyFucker · 08/04/2013 22:04

I shall leave you to it now. Yes, free speech'n'all that. By the same token, don't expect hate speech not to get picked up on.

FergusSingsTheBlues · 08/04/2013 22:04

Yes, she was VOTED in...so I´d like to know where all the whingers were on THREE election days if she was so evil?

ReturnOfEmeraldGreen · 08/04/2013 22:06

Thanks, AF! I thought you were going to say you don't give a fuck again Grin

ParadiseChick · 08/04/2013 22:06

Fergus are you being ironic? Or attempting humour or something or did you really just ask such a ridiculously stupid question?
