Corrrrr, Rob Lowe! In anything, ever (apart from the underage sex tape - no, no, no, no) - yes please!!! Especially The Outsiders (when I was 14, not now) - cos he was just so pretty...

NotTreadingGrapes · 10/04/2013 14:05

Is The Outsiders that nothing-gold-can-stay film? With all the young whippersnappers who are now old whippersnappers? I really fancied one of them but can't remember which one!

WorriedMummy73 · 10/04/2013 14:18

The Outsiders - Tom Cruise (mangled teeth), Ralph Macchio (Karate Kid), Patrick Swayze (Dirty Dancing, obvs), Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, C. Thomas Howell, Leif Garrett, Diane Lane.

What.a.cast!

freddiefrog · 10/04/2013 14:45

Rob Lowe - no
Emilio Esteves - yes
Patrick Swayze - swoon

What about Balthazar Getty? God, I had the hots for him

Katy, Tyrese Gibson has that effect on me.

DH is for some reason convinced that Michael Fassbender does that to me, but no, he just looks like a sociopath. And a cocky one at that.

WorriedMummy73 · 10/04/2013 15:03

Eldritch - this thread has thrown up some amazing feelings towards actors, but 'Michael Fassbender looks like a cocky sociopath' is my thought for the day Grin

EldritchCleavage · 10/04/2013 15:28

Thank yew, laydies 'n' gennelmen, I'm here all week (sadly true).

Rob Lowe seems to be one of the few exceptions to the rule of 'pretty when younger, strange when older'. I'm talking about men here. I can't think of anyone specific (but I'm sure someone has some good examples) but it seems to be that if a man (actors usually) is 'pretty' when he's young, he DOES NOT age well.

Examples please - or show me otherwise!

NotTreadingGrapes · 10/04/2013 16:12

Oh, he has hasn't he?

Might have to watch About Last Night tonight if dp goes out to the footy.

Panzee · 10/04/2013 17:42

WorriedMummy Stephen Baldwin.

KatieScarlett2833 · 10/04/2013 19:29

Now Andrew McCarthy.... (sigh).... Smile

KatyTheCleaningLady · 10/04/2013 20:57

Well...

My husband and I have just arranged babysitting for Friday night so we can go see Oblivion.

DAMN THIS THREAD!

WorriedMummy73 · 10/04/2013 21:04

Panzee - is Stephen Baldwin an example of becoming weird or not?

KatieScarlett - love Andrew McCarthy but he always, always looks on the verge of tears!

Katy - let us know how Oblivion is - thinking of going next week :)

Am now so obsessed with the TC as the SJ- it is not on.Googling like a hormonal woman posessed.Would love a Stacee Jaxx, Ben Barnes and Oscar Pistorius (pre-murder) sandwich

DameDoom · 11/04/2013 03:00

At the end of the day ... we are now a quiche that fancies Tom Cruise. Am sorry but we do.

Bogeyface · 11/04/2013 03:11

I fancy him too, but that only happened recently. Didnt get the whole Top Gun thing but Stacy Jaxx and him on Graham Norton does it for me every time! He is cute, charismatic and funny. I am also an aging rock chick so maybe that has something to do with it, was never keen on pretty boys. Shame he has such ishoos!

The love story with RB and AB in RoA was wonderful! Wanted to shoot the two young lovers for being amazingly annoying though, and I though that the journo looked like a young Michelle PerFiefer.

KatyTheCleaningLady · 11/04/2013 08:29

When this thread started, I was mostly on team YABU. Now, I'm obsessed with Tom Cruise. I did not even like Top Gun when I was a kid. I'm just Googling the shit out of him and watching a bunch of his movies.

This thread has changed my life.

Grin

Top Gun did change mine. Blush

When you're watching TG hold the button over the bit where they first snog, after they've had a big carchase and fallout cos Kelly Mc told him off. His wee little face when she tells him she's fallen for him is just, just...well, it just is.

The book version (I am going to have to namechange now people know I have a TG book) is even better because when she tear-arses to the airport to stop him from leaving (has the bloody woman got no pride! shrieks the MNer in me) (whilst the TC lover shrieks "faster Kel, you can get there!") as she leaves, she turns round and says "oh and by the way, if it should ever cross your mind, yes I did love you, and you were worth it".

Not that I've watched TG much, like.

NotTreadingGrapes · 11/04/2013 08:35

D0G the photo look at the photo.

I am 5ft 10 and would happily carry a box and a winch pulley round with me to stand him on.

mnistooaddictive · 11/04/2013 08:37

The RoA DVD may have arrived yesterday from Amazon.

melika · 11/04/2013 08:38

I quite Michael Buble with his sticky out ears and the Spanish one in IL Divo. I did like Tom in Top Gun but after all the strange goings on in his personal life, have gone off him.

melika · 11/04/2013 08:40

Oh ye, had a little crush on Alec Baldwin, but when he got chunkier, went off him a bit.

NotTreadingGrapes · 11/04/2013 08:41

I might be able to accommodate all of Il Divo at the same time quite frankly. There's nothing quite like men dressed in nice suits standing with their legs apart bellowing in foreign languages.

All of Take That could form an orderly queue outside as well.
