Blackteaplease, try a 32g to start with.

Blacktea - try a 32G for starters, and maybe 32FF and single F as well, but I think the F will be too small.

sparkle12mar08 · 02/03/2013 20:12

Sorry, I'm treading on toes here, aren't I?

blackteaplease · 02/03/2013 20:15

Thanks very much, I will get the old credit card out and give it a hammering tonight while DH is out.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 20:15

Can I just say thank you to all you wonderful women? I can't do a major bra shopping expedition at the moment due to finances and still bfing but I nt to Debenhams today for a reccy.

I now have a Freya bra in 30F or 32E (forgot which, in all the excitement and the shop was closing but it was whichever one fit best) and best of all it was marked down from £31 to £9.80 in the sale! Woohoo!

I have a figure again, and when DD goes down to morning and evening feeds only I shall go and invest in more bras. But I have a "going out" bra now and know what size I am i.e. not a 38B or 36C as I am currently wearing.

I genuinely look like I did before I had the DC apart from the grey hair and wrinkles and generally less like a sack of boobs trussed up with gaffer tape. I look thinner and less wobbly all over.

Thank you so much for helping me. Grin

Thanks Celtic and everyone else who has given me advice, will try again but I'm slowly wondering if I'll ever get a bra to fit. Must have tried 15-20 bras today between M&S and Debenhams. Have ordered some online so crossing my fingers that at least one of those will fit. Currently wearing a very a very old sloggi crop top as that's all I can bear at the moment!

CelticPromise · 02/03/2013 20:25

Good news opener

Going just a thought. Is the back strap quite narrow under the arms? I have found M&S bras in bigger cup sizes to be a touch flimsy for the job. I wonder if you might be more comfortable in something that comes up higher under the arms so the pressure is spread out, if that makes sense?

CelticPromise · 02/03/2013 20:28

Also, it is always a case of trial and error and finding a style that really suits. I wanted to try some different brands recently, and I'm used to looking for my size and style. I tried 12 bras and bought two, and one of those had to go back. It's a pain, but it's worth it once you find the right one.

GoingVerySlowlyMad · 02/03/2013 20:32

The cup is perfect on one side, I am at least a cup smaller on the other and it is mostly on this side that the strap rubs at the fleshy bit at the top of my boob/start of armpit. Everything else is perfect!

CMOTDibbler · 02/03/2013 20:32

Hmm, so I didn't have time to go shopping today, but found a 34e in the cupboard from post ds (you recommended 34f), but although the wires are more comfy, I really don't fill the cups at all at the top. Am a bit confused tbh

GoingVerySlowlyMad · 02/03/2013 20:33

Yes celtic I'm so sick of being in pain that I'll try 100 bras if thats what it takes lol!

cavrotts · 02/03/2013 20:42

27 under and 32 over

thanks :)x

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 20:52

Going have a look for marriednotdead's post about uneven breasts. I believe there is good advice about fitting the smaller side on there that may help. Maybe a removable pad on the smaller side may help.

cavrotts · 02/03/2013 20:57

thanks alot SC :)

CelticPromise · 02/03/2013 20:59

CMOT how did the back feel? was it a moulded bra? The cup is hard to get right from measurements so you may need to try one or two either side.

Silverstar2 · 02/03/2013 21:23

Hi, not had time to post before today - I was on on eof the original threads a few weeks back, and though I was sorted - but needing a few tweaks. I went from wearing 38D to 36G - but as all my 36's were on the tightest hook when new, and I was still getting a bit of digging in under my arm, I ordered a 34 (Masquarade Persia) and it won't do up! I mean, when stretched, the band is about 4 inches from meeting. Also, when I scoop, I still have underarm and back fat.

Shall I try another 34 in a different make? I had orderd a 34g and GG, but never got the chance to test the cup cos of the band not even meeting! When I measure and pull tight, I am dead on 36.

Thanks!

SS2

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 21:26

The Persia is known to be small backed, I have one waiting for me to try on in s 32 when my usual size is a 30.

Help - 43 under, 54 over Shock

Silverstar2 · 02/03/2013 21:29

Ah, ok, good - I though I had got suddenly a lot wider! I shall try a 34 in another make, and go for the GG.

Could do with resting my credit card this month mind......!

Beksybob · 02/03/2013 21:29

Ta Celtic It's directly under my boobs where the wires really hurt, which I guess is where they really need to be! Smile To be fair, my boobs are very small but full. They can't be squeezed together or pushed up much. Luckily for me, they are exactly where I want them to be so they only thing a bra can do is hold them still. Non-wired might be alright.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 21:31

Start with a 42hh but you might need to try a smaller back - ladies who are squidgy of torso often need a smaller back than they measure. If you try a smaller back, then go up 1-2 cups to compensate

OP posts:
SorrelForbes · 02/03/2013 21:33

xxxxmrsxxxx Try a 42HH, 42H, 44GG, 44H. However, have a read upthread about the need for some of the squishier of us to size down beyond their actual measurement. You may want to try a 40 or even a 38 but remember to go up again in the cup.

HumpheadWrasse · 02/03/2013 21:39

Here goes - 30.5 under, 37.5 over, currently wearing 32C. Thanks!
