I've been reading the recent bra threads and love it when people are shocked to discover they are actually a 32F and not a 40A.

So, if you have recently had a bra intervention by Sorrel, SC and others, can you answer the following please:

What size were you wearing?
Who fitted you? (Name and shame please)
What size are you now?

Freya try a 34H for starters I think.

SoSweetAndSoCold · 28/02/2013 20:56

Ooo me please!!! Measurements are 34 and 42. Have already done 'the scoop' with my existing bra (34DD) and it makes a big difference.

Thanks in advance!

Oh also, are M&S bras to be avoided, or just the measuring service. e.g. if you come back with a measurement, can I go and buy that size from M&S?

Thanks Smile

tallskinnylatte · 28/02/2013 20:59

OK, here goes- currently wearing 36C (M&S, of course)- ok but tend to ride up at the back.
Measurements are: firmly under bust 31.5", widest measurement 38".
I am quite excited about this!

SlightlyConfusedAlwaysMad · 28/02/2013 21:00

Seriously? Wow no wonder I can never find a comfortable bra. Thank you

redplasticspoon · 28/02/2013 21:01

Thank you, that's great to know. Tbh I think the bravissimo fitted bra is fine, but when I have ordered other bras online with the same size they haven't been quite right, so I will try your advise.

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 21:02

SoSweet 34E I reckon, so you're not far off.

latte 30FF or G, or 32F or FF. Most people between sizes get on better with a lower band.

ceeveebee · 28/02/2013 21:03

Well my 30DD bras arrived. They looked tiny, really narrow, but they actually fit really well - can just get 2 fingers under the band, I don't have any backfat and after I scooped all my arm spillage in the cups fit well too. My boobs look really high up now!
Thank you and I will now need to go and do lots if shopping and chuck out all my 36a, 34b M&S horrors!

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 21:08

YAY CeeVeeBee, that's a huge change!

I am in awe of then underwear gurus. Wondering what a rough measurement of 32" and 43" translates as

ThisIsNotWhatIWasAfter · 28/02/2013 21:13

Grin at Maryz falling over,i always used to say that was why i had such big feet.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 21:13

The bizarre think MAryz is they probably won't look bigger - just perkier and better!

ThisIsNot, try a 32H

gingercat12 · 28/02/2013 21:15

I have been losing weight lately, so I have given up on fitting a little bit. What does 33" and 37" measurement mean? I am wearing 36B, but can only blame myself. M&S always measured me 38B, and I definitely smaller than that now.

lindznog · 28/02/2013 21:17

You were so helpful to me further up the thread and I have now ordered new bras to try! Would you be able to advise me on my daughters size please as she refuses to be measured in a shop!! Although with all this bad sizing it is maybe not a bad thing!!!

She is 33 around her band and 39 around biggest part of bust. Thanks again!

ThisIsNotWhatIWasAfter · 28/02/2013 21:20

Statistically, you are amazing. I am currently in a 34gg but it's been two bouts of breastfeeding since i was measured properly. I thank heaven that i discovered Bravissimo years ago although i was disappointed with the nursing bras they offered. Thanks Thanks Thanks

This thread is a revelation! If you would be so kind to suggest what I try... Measured 30 under and 36 across. Have been wearing a 34c but in truth I haven't got a clue. Hideous and not fitting at all, but I am also 24 weeks pg so unsure if that affects anything? I have blamed pregnancy for all my clothing woes! Am I also right in thinking that wires are still ok, as non wired are beyond vile and I'm not convinced I will bf anyway, bad experience previously. Thank you v much!

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 21:25

Ginger 32DD to start.

lindznog 32F to start I reckon.

CelticPromise · 28/02/2013 21:27

30E snowflake. Wires are fine if properly fitted. If you do bf it's also possible get nursing bras with underwire.

Ok, I had no idea this super amazing MN bra re-measuring service even existed! I was measured at M&S over 10 years ago as a 34B, then pregnant as a 38B and have been wearing that size every since. Am still breastfeeding but boobs are normal size now (babe is 17m).

Using measuring thingy up-thread it is 33.5 under the bust and the other one is 41.5. Any help muchly appreciated.

Where would one buy these new-fangled sizes from? Have never bought a bra anywhere other than M&S or Mothercare Blush

Wiggletastic · 28/02/2013 21:39

I am 34 under-boob and 38 over boob and have up to now been wearing either a 36B or 38A, but today, following the MN Bra Gurus advice I tried a 34D. Guess what??? I AM A 34D! This is a bloody revelation I can tell you. Boobs never looked better - perky as fuck!

Iwillorderthefood · 28/02/2013 21:39

Hi can you tell me what I would be? 33cm underneath and 38 when leaning forward. Am wearing 34b at moment, but know that this is not right.

Iwillorderthefood · 28/02/2013 21:40

Well obviously do not know if this is not right, hence question.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2013 21:47

Fascinating, they are no longer so expensive. And the same companies who sell the 40f in many cases sell a 34gg. It's not about wanting to be "slimmer with bigger tits" it's about being comfortable in something you wear everyday. And for many women the wrong size can be a source of constant physical pain.
