I hate tattoos. Whilst I appreciate everyone has a right to their own taste and choices I still cannot get over the fact that people have them in places where they are visible.

A colleague of mine has just returned to work after M leave with a horrific tattoo from her wrist to her elbow. How can she go out and meet clients looking like that?? It can be seen through tops and obviously below short sleeved tops.

What I really don't like is seeing lovely brides on their wedding days, strapless dresses and tattoos on their upper arms and backs..... urgh!!!!!!

Anyone else with me??

If you don't like tattoos, don't look. It's nothing to do with you how people choose to adorn their own bodies.

YABU. What a ridiculous attitude. You don't have to like the way tattoos look or want any yourself, but judging someone on their appearance- ANY aspect of their appearance- is just plain wrong.

How can your friend meet clients with a tattoo on her arm? I'd imagine it's because, funnily enough, it doesn't actually affect her ability to do her job. I know a few paramedics at work with full sleeves- would you send them away if you or your DC needed lifesaving treatment?

Why get het up about another person's personal choices? It is none of your business. It's not hurting you. If you don't want a tattoo, don't get one!

I don't have any tattoos. I always thought I would get one (or two or three or more) but I think when every person and their dog started getting them I went off getting one for myself. I enjoy admiring a good one on other people though.

I have three tattoos but I can still accept that some look shit.

If they are done well tattoos look amazing.
I like full sleeves like David Beckhams because they look 'arty'.
Some look dreadful IMO.
I'm very tempted to use my 'fat' money (giving myself £1 for every 1lb I lose..got alot to shift so will have a nice amount!) to get one on my foot of stargazer lillies. They're a very special flower to me.

I dont have tattoos and they are not for me, but I am not in the least bit offended by other people's tatts and am actually quite curious about people who get 'addicted' to tattoos and keep getting more....its quite interesting and I wonder what it feels like to have permanent art on your body!

I have a female friend who has 15 tatts and is always planning her next one. She is gorgeous and the look really works for her.

If you have a corporate job selling to FM companies and fairly high brow clients I do not think it's professional looking to have tattoos showing. I think in general women have more chance to dress in a way where their tattoos are "on show".

I did say in my original post that everyone is entitled to make their own choices.... this is merely my opinion.

People have tattoos because they like them, if women didn't want them to show in their wedding dresses they would pick a style that covered them.
Everyone's perception of beauty if different. I find some tattoos incredibly beautiful. I used to know a woman with a full back piece of an elegantly done set of wings. They were utterly, devastatingly gorgeous (like her!)
Not all tattooists are equal, some are artists.

YANBU. I hate tatoos. Only political correctness stops others who also choose not to have them from agreeing. To me it's like a permanent defacing of your own body but then I don't like piercing of babies ears either so clearly I am a less is more person.
