to not stop with the laundry on Christmas Day?

My washing machine is my best friend. Sad

I think he'd feel lonely if his knobs weren't twiddled with on Crhistmas Day.

I don't think I could survive the guilt of feeling he was neglected.

I'll bet I'm not the only one...

3 full loads every single day still seems massive to me!

I think I'm doing it wrong.

Dawndonna · 22/12/2012 12:22

I have a dd and a dh with problems, I shall be bunging it in as normal. It's not martyrdom. It takes a minute and can be going whilst we're opening pressies.

fedupofnamechanging · 22/12/2012 12:23

I will be doing mine. there are 6 of us and if I leave it for a day, the basket is overflowing. Am trying to get all the bedding changed in the next 2 days so it can all be washed and dried before Christmas.

LadyBeagleBaublesandBells · 22/12/2012 12:24

It may take a minute to wash and dry but you still have to fold and put it away which is the biggest hassle and very time consuming.

StNiChaolas · 22/12/2012 12:24

Can't speak for everyone else, but DH will be Cook and ClearerUpper. And ProviderOfVeverages.

And being BatteryMonitir, which is a friffing job and a half. Wink

I generally hang straight from the washing machine.

I will not be putting away stuff for for sure, that's the onerific part of the process.

8 people

Temperamental washing machine meaning can only do half loads.

It will be on on Xmas day.

Have bought disposable nappies to cut out one load a day (2 babies in nappies)

Can't wait for my new machine.

RandallPinkFloyd · 22/12/2012 12:27

If I do 27 loads of washing can I have your dh?

Xmas Grin
LittleChristmasBearPad · 22/12/2012 12:31

How do you have so much washing?

Bunbaker · 22/12/2012 12:33

"I normally do 3+ a day"

Why? you have twice as many people in your house as we do but you do five times more washing Shock It sounds like you are making a rod for your own back.

We are all clean, put clean underwear and socks on every day, change sheets and towels once a week and wear T-shirts for a couple of days before discarding into the wash. I simply cannot see why you need to do 21 loads of washing a week.

I shan't be washing on Christmas Day.

StNiChaolas · 22/12/2012 12:33

I don't know! It's just always there - a large amorphous bymp watching me, judging.

Gah.

PM me your address Randall. Grin

I cannot tell you how much the phrase "rid for your own back" irks me.

I am a comprehensively lazy person. If there's a shortcut ill embrace it like it's Gerard Butler dunked in Ferrero Riche. Believe me, I am Not doing more than I need to.

Hokay?

OP posts:
StNiChaolas · 22/12/2012 12:38

I'll

YourHandInMyHand · 22/12/2012 12:40

That is a LOT of washing you are doing each and every day!? Shock

Do you have spillers/ bed wetters/ drooling teething baby? I don't understand how you are creating so much laundry! Confused

misdee · 22/12/2012 12:42

We do 2-3 a day.

I ave dirt magnet children.

And a biiiiiig dog

misdee · 22/12/2012 12:43

ATM it's 5+ a day due to stupid broken machine only coping with half loads.

DewDr0p · 22/12/2012 12:44

Yes YABU.

Annunziata · 22/12/2012 12:45

8 people here... mine will also be on.

I do refuse to iron though!

MamaWomanAha · 22/12/2012 12:48

Absolutely no ironing on CD - it's the law!!

OP - twiddle away - I don't see the issue.

misdee · 22/12/2012 12:48

No no no to ironing. Ever!

WorraLorraTurkey · 22/12/2012 12:50

What will all your DHs be doing? Bet they won't be worrying about the pile of dirty clothes.

Cooking a Christmas dinner for 10 people.

He'd love to just have dirty clothes to worry about Xmas Grin

Hulababy · 22/12/2012 12:51

21 loads of washing a week!!! Shock

VisualiseAHorse · 22/12/2012 12:52

I'm hoping to empty the laundry basket by Monday, and not do any more until Thursday. I love an empty laundry basket.

ceeveebee · 22/12/2012 12:53

Fair enough. Mine will be sat on his rear end being waited on by PILs, as will I.

It's the "Mummy does not get the week off at Christmas" comments that irk me. Very Asda/Morrisons mum.

MamaWomanAha · 22/12/2012 12:55

It might be more interesting to watch the washing go round than what's on the telly. Grin
