I feel really sorry for you kaylasmum, I know exactly what you are going through. It doesn't seem rational to lots of people and indeed when the anxiety is at a low ebb it doesn't seem rational to us does it! The others are right though, you (and I probably!) need to step away from the internet because it isn't helping.

perceptionInaPearTree · 13/12/2012 16:52

In my case I have only been consistently well since I had 2 years of psychotherapy. It wasn't available on the NHS but I have been much better since. Although I did also have a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. I am happy to say that since the psychotherapy I can function again with no medication, no MH episodes since. I do still have my anxious days but I can so much more easily choose to ignore it and know that it will pass and it doesn't escalate.

kaylasmum · 13/12/2012 16:58

Thanks for the understanding, I've given myself a bad headache with all the anxiety, got to go to work soon but I just want to go to bed so my mind can get a rest.

I hope not. Fly to NYC on the 22nd and paid a fortune for the flights&hotel.

AboutThyme · 13/12/2012 22:02

I will go in your place MissNJE? You can wait for Cusack in the limo Grin

Morloth · 13/12/2012 22:10

If John Cusack is in the offering then I am good with the world ending on 21/12, as long as I get a turn first. Wink

AboutThyme · 13/12/2012 22:14

Late comers to the thread get the fat still-in-love-with-the-ex-wife russian.....sorry and all that....Grin (He does have the ticket for the big ship though - bonus innit?!)

Morloth · 13/12/2012 22:18

That's OK, I was in early on the thread!

My Cusack.

specialsubject · 13/12/2012 22:22

well, there aren't many certainties in life but here are two for you:

  1. pick up an (unbreakable) object. Hold it a foot above the floor. Release it. It WILL fall.
  2. the world will NOT end on the 21st.

the second is just as certain as the first. 100% probability. Reassuring, I hope.

AboutThyme · 13/12/2012 22:31

I fear that the world may end soon for Morloth if she moves in on MY Cusack just one more time......

Morloth · 13/12/2012 22:37

OK, can I have Bill Pulman? I have had a bit of a thing for him since ID4. Actually you can have Cusack and I will take Pulman, Goldblum and Smith - (not at the same time you understand - well maybe).

What other disaster movies are there? Someone else can have Bruce Willis.

AboutThyme · 13/12/2012 23:24

Is Pulman the one who was the president in independence day? if so, you may have him! (you know, that at the moment he will say, nuke 'em, lets nuke the bastards....)

AboutThyme · 13/12/2012 23:24

But Jeffy G and Big Willy in those pilot jumpsuits?

Morloth · 14/12/2012 00:06

I think I would prefer them out of the jumpsuits, only if the workday us ending obviously.

AboutThyme · 14/12/2012 00:15

Oh m'dear when you are a potentially-able-to-fly-the-alien-spacecraft-into-the-mothership style pilot, there are no days off. This, and I really mean this kindly, THIS is why Jeff and Big Willy turned you down.....

FryOneFatChristmasTurkey · 14/12/2012 09:02

Jeff G - No
Will S - No

AboutThyme you can have them, as long as I get Neil Oliver Grin For a one-off I so would.

whay about the going into total dsrkness on 21st onwards due to solar alignment

Everything has some form of alignment. The doomsayers keep suitably vague about what exact alignment they are rabbiting on about. If something happens they can then claim they predicted it, and if nothing happens they can claim this wasn't the alignment they were talking about! Tis all crap.

specialsubject · 14/12/2012 17:17

knowledge is the cure for fear. If you are worried, pop to the library and get a book on astronomy. (NOT ASTROLOGY which is fiction). This will teach you how the solar system works in principle.

everything lines up if you look at it from the right angle.

Or if you prefer: g=GMm/r-squared, which defines the gravitational effect of one body on another. As the planets are a Very Long Way apart (r), squaring r means that the answer is very very small. Bet you won't find this on any of the babble sites.

in short - all this babble is total, utter, complete bollocks. Squared.
