DH convinced it is a boy's name but I have never known a boy named this, only girls. AIBU to name my daughter Logan?

I have only ever known it as the name of a berry.

TheNebulousBoojum · 20/11/2012 19:15

Wolverine is known as Logan, and they don't come more male than him.

ninah · 20/11/2012 19:15

I know a boy Logan

RobotLover68 · 20/11/2012 19:15

The Logan in our school is a boy - never heard it as a girls name

MrsMangoBiscuit · 20/11/2012 19:15

I've only known it as a boys name, but apparently it is unisex, and it means hollow. Confused

Only heard of it as a boys name.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 20/11/2012 19:16

I thought it was a boys name too.

MerryMarigold · 20/11/2012 19:17

I've only known it as a boy's name. Grin at honeytea! I think it sounds really masculine too. So yes, YABU.

PenguinBear · 20/11/2012 19:17

Only ever heard it as a boys name. I've been teaching for many years and never met a girl called Logan!

TandB · 20/11/2012 19:17

I've only heard it as a boy's name.

But anyway, your DH doesn't like it so yes you would be unreasonable to name your (plural) daughter Logan.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 20/11/2012 19:17

Yep couple of male Logan's at school.

ll31 · 20/11/2012 19:17

wasn't it a guys name in 70s tv series where they killed over 30s logans run?

LtEveDallas · 20/11/2012 19:17

Boys name - Logan from Logan's Run was my first thought.

Tamisara · 20/11/2012 19:18

I'm with your DH.

The film Logan's Run springs to mind - and he was most definitely a man.

I was born in the 70's, so maybe it has become more unisex since then?

My nephew is Logan - he is 11 & there are quite a few boys in the school with the same name as him.

I'm not sure it matters though - lots of names are unisex such as Frances & Leslie.

larks35 · 20/11/2012 19:18

Logan's Run, he was male. I've always thought of it as a male name. Never come across it in real life though.

SrirachaGirl · 20/11/2012 19:20

I can settle this for you; It's NEITHER Grin. Perfect if you get your knockers In a twist about gender stereotyping, fairytales blah blah....

dinkybinky · 20/11/2012 19:20

Its unisex the same as Ashley, leigh, Jordan etc

FatimaLovesBread · 20/11/2012 19:21

It would make me think boy firstly. Could be both though

Salmotrutta · 20/11/2012 19:21

It's a Scottish Clan surname.

vodkaanddietirnbru · 20/11/2012 19:23

There is a boy in Ds's class called Logan

MrsTerryPratchett · 20/11/2012 19:23

The first two in my head are Wolverine and Logan's Run.

SrirachaGirl · 20/11/2012 19:24

Ffs...knickers in a twist.

Or knockers if you're gifted in that department, I guess Grin.

FatimaLovesBread · 20/11/2012 19:25
