Well if she became a GM for the first time aged 32 then both she and her daughter could have been 16 when they had a child. It is young but it isn't illegal and there are places where it isn't unusual. Did you ever see Gypsy Weddings?

No. I think nationwide the average age people have children is rising. (I think I remember reading that somewhere). People used to have children far, far younger than they do these days.

But yes, there are places where it's normal to have a child at 15 or 16 and for your child to have children at the same age. I grew up in such a place. It wasn't seen as unusual to be a parent before you were legally an adult yourself.

Why do you care? My mum is 38 and a nanny soon to be of two, she is my step mum, but i call her mum and if anyone was small minded enough to judge on that then id say it says more about them than us! How very very small minded, as long children are loved and well looked after a parent (or GPs) age is irrelevant

a lot of the 'girls' i went to school with are grandmas a young woman i work with she is 21/22 her mum is younger than me i am 41

why are you uneasy women do have babies young so women become grandparents young my own mother had me at 19 so she was a young gran, infact some of the girls dd went to school with have babies, YABU and a little bit judgemental

Unless they are asking you to babysit, then you have nothing to feel 'uneasy' about.

My sister married at 19 and had her first baby at 20 and my niece did the same thing so she was a granny at 40.

My mother was a grandmother at 45, she had me at 21 and I had dc at 24. Not a million miles away and we are all perfectly respectable I assure you.

I am glad I asked as I was wondering whether I was being unreasonable.

My mum is now 60 and loves her grand daughter giving her lifts in the car she brags about it , that her DGD took her shopping my mum is far from the old grandma

My dsis was teaching at a school where some of her class were on their second pregnancy. I think its really sad but was quite the norm in that particular area and the girls would boast about how many points they could rack up on the council?
