to be annoyed that it's easier for fat women than for short women to buy clothes.

A new Simply Be has opened here. We now have that and Evans. I should imagine the moderately stout can get into clothes in most shops. If you're short, there are rarely dedicated shops and the choice is limited and twee.
Obviously there is money to be made in the plus size market. It's just one of life's unfairnesses that the cake munchers are rewarded for their lack of self control with clothes to fit them.

Bupcakes- I'm LOLing at "Build A Bear" Smile

M and S and House of Fraser sells petite ranges as do Littlewoods. I am a shortie and manage fine. Heck I have even taken up jeans myself! I am also faaaarrrr from sylph-like.

I think those fatties are really selfish- they eat all our food, hog all the clothes shops and take up room in cafes. They should really be kept in a pen and fed Ryvita until they are fit to mingle. Some of them even have boyfriends. The cheek of them! If you ask me, they should only be let out of fattie farm if they are funny, that way we can label them "larger than life funnygirls" and allow them into the periphery of our friendship groups.

hugoagogo · 01/11/2012 16:36

Hmm is it really ok to take the piss out of people who are short?

YouOldSlag · 01/11/2012 16:39

Hugo, it's not Ok to make fun of people for anything that they can't help. Most responses have been witheringly sarcastic towards the OP, so I am heartened that Mners are on the same page on this and won't take it lying down.

Don't take this the wrong way MrsDevere but

I want your body

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/11/2012 16:42

I bet you have to put up with hair that naturally shines and an innate perfumed scent attending you like the draperies on the Botticelli Venus, MrsDeVere. Sad

MrsTerryPratchett · 01/11/2012 16:43

Grin MrsDeVere. I know what you mean. So few clothes go with my natural platinum blonde hair and enormous norks. Also, shops assistants get dazzled by my white teeth and fall backwards on the short-arse selections, thereby ruining things for the OP.

gordyslovesheep · 01/11/2012 16:44

wolowitz where the HELL did you find that shop Grin

Enigmosaurus · 01/11/2012 16:44

I prefer galaxy to dairy milk, OP.

PropertyNightmare · 01/11/2012 16:51

What a really quite amusing OP! Thank you, had a genuine smile at that.

maddening · 01/11/2012 16:51

It is worse to be tall and fat - v few cater for tall people - compared to petite ranges in lots and lots of shops

Binkyridesagain · 01/11/2012 16:53

I love short people, you can lean on them when there's no wall.

waltermittymissus · 01/11/2012 16:55

Well clearly all the clothes makers in all the lands held a vote and fatties won out. So you'll have to sew your own clothes. Pity.

Still, if you're that tiny, it shouldn't take very long.

Nope

The worstest worstest of all things...erm... worse?
Is to be tall and pregnant!

motherinferior · 01/11/2012 17:07

MrsDV is actually Samantha Brick, you know.

MrsTerryPratchett · 01/11/2012 17:08

Worserest of all, not standard shaped. I know a few people who have, for example, really thin legs and arms and a round body, or vice versa. It is a nightmare and they have to be so careful.

Really? Really? Well in that case Mrs DV I respectfully ask that you leave the thread as I am feeling threatened by you, you gorgeous cow. You can't be beautiful and expect to have friends!

lovebunny · 01/11/2012 17:16
