to be annoyed that it's easier for fat women than for short women to buy clothes.

A new Simply Be has opened here. We now have that and Evans. I should imagine the moderately stout can get into clothes in most shops. If you're short, there are rarely dedicated shops and the choice is limited and twee.
Obviously there is money to be made in the plus size market. It's just one of life's unfairnesses that the cake munchers are rewarded for their lack of self control with clothes to fit them.

Well I have just sacked my personal trainer, told some twat person on the web told me I would have loads of choice of clothes if I got fat. So what's the point, turns out fat people have it easy because somewhere there are 2 high street shops for plus size women. Lucky them Confused

motherinferior · 01/11/2012 15:36

While I agree about specialist ranges for shortarses (petite - shudder) I find your attitude 'self control' a bit, er, Victorian.

I think we should have specialist Slapper Shops for the Sexually Incontinent, actually.

MordecaiAndTheRigbys · 01/11/2012 15:36

Oh and from now on I shall call myself moderately stout!! I love it..so witty!!! I would have thought of it myself but I was too busy eating a pallet of cakes.

Learn to sew. Or fuck off. Or both if you're able to multi-task.

Mrsrobertduvallsaysboo · 01/11/2012 15:37

Well I will say it's easier for both fat and short women to buy clothes, than tall people.
Unless you are tall and fat.
Then you are in shit street.

YerMaw1989 · 01/11/2012 15:37

FALSE
There are shops with petite sections.
if you are a bit skint go to a kids/teen section.
..

Come back when you're tall and tops that aren't dresses are barely long enough...

ChaoticismyLife · 01/11/2012 15:38
Biscuit
WelshMaenad · 01/11/2012 15:38

I'm fat and also ridiculously tall, and manage to dress myself. Make more effort.

littlebird3 · 01/11/2012 15:38

Yanbu 5ft 2 short arse here. Can't change your height but you can change your weight !

motherinferior · 01/11/2012 15:38

Petite stuff does tend to be a bit naff, though. One is expected to be a girly fluffy type.

hugoagogo · 01/11/2012 15:38

'cake muncher' [hgrin]

Wommer · 01/11/2012 15:39

Try being 6ft tall - then it's reaaaaaally hard!
There's long tall Sally and that's it and you have to be a millionaire to shop there

Especially when you through size 9 clown feet into the mix!

Shorties?! At least you can just chop a bit off the length! You don't know how good you little people have got it!

motherinferior · 01/11/2012 15:39

And lots of the nicer shops don't have Shortarse Sections.

Wommer · 01/11/2012 15:40

*throw

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/11/2012 15:41

Oh, do fuck off.

Also, Grin at mrsdevere.

squoosh · 01/11/2012 15:41

In Russia there are surgeons who'll break your legs for you and stick a bit of extra length in.

Admittedly it's pricey and it might sting a little for a few months and you'll need to relearn how to walk but those minor issues aside you'll have long legs at the end!

5madthings · 01/11/2012 15:41

5 2 here and i dont find it a problem, next do petite rangers and their jeans are fine, hennes skirts etc are fine as are their tops, ditto white stuff tops etc. i like joe browns as well, sometimes get stuff from supermarkets etc, its not that hard at all.

Happylander · 01/11/2012 15:41

I am short and fat. I hate clothes shopping because I can never find anything to fit however, I have got more important stuff to be worrying about than whether fat people have more clothing options tbh.

NiniLegsInTheAir · 01/11/2012 15:41

What about us poor sods who are somewhere in the middle height wise - too tall for petite clothes (trousers look like ankle swingers) and too short for 'regular' length clothes (trousers drag on the floor and get ripped/muddy unless you wear super high heels). Sad

TheCrackFox · 01/11/2012 15:41

Buy children's wear? No VAT either.

WorraLiberty · 01/11/2012 15:42

Where's the OP gone?

I'm worried she's fallen between the keys on her keyboard

Banished to a life of munching on toast crumbs and chipped nail varnish...

EmpressOfTheSevenRomanCandles · 01/11/2012 15:43

Besides. Everyone goes on about clothes but what about bloody high shelves in supermarkets? I think Sainsburys should issue me with a tall person on arrival to go round and lift things down.... And if they DON'T then they can't object to me borrowing one of their stools.

travailtotravel · 01/11/2012 15:43

All those Petite ranges, specially designed for short women. They no good then?

gordyslovesheep · 01/11/2012 15:43

maybe she fainted with the very effort of typing?
