to be jealous of the young trendy mums at DC school?

i live in an area renowned for its teen pregnancies where people have kids young

i had mine relatively young too, i was 26 and 29 respectively but this is old in my area.

and i feel like an absolute granny compared to the mums i see every day at school. i am at least 10 years older than most of them - am only 33 ffs! they are all so trendy and fresh and pretty and SKINNY damn them

they all have this identikit casual style... think long shiny hair thrown up into a messy bun, fresh subtle make up, skinny jeans, slouchy tops, but super groomed, with their immaculately turned out little DC in tow. some of them have like 3 or 4 DC and still look about 14 years old fgs. and did i mention they are ALL SO DAMN SKINNY

33 with 2 school age children? It's hardly old is it? I am about to turn 45 and have a 2 year old... who gives a Sh** about the school gate crowd anyway, it's not worth fretting about.

There are mums who dress like that at the school I go to collect mindees from. But only the reception mums. Everyone else, me included, wears whatever they ahppen to ahve on, some turn up in joggers and sweat tops, some in gym kit.

It doesn't bother me. I looked alright when i was in my early twenties aswell, but i had a different lifestyle and no kids.
Now i look like the Crypt Keeper but i'm glad i had children later in life.

Oh and i'm 44. So you would probably make me feel like a pensioner!

I was like that when DD1 started school 12 yrs ago.
When DS2 started school 3 yrs ago I definitely was not like that anymore.

I am a young mum 24 with dcnin yr 1 and 2. I wear my hair up in that messy bun with skinny jean to. I actually wish I was older especially with dds class.

YABU. they are probably jealsous that you didn't have kids as a teenager.

I enjoy all the eye candy at the school gate. I'm not gay - I'm just aesthetically sensitive.

As for jealousy - yes they are young and gorgeous, but there are only one or two who are still happily living with their dc's fathers. I wouldn't trade
my happy marriage (to the father of my children) for a tight bottom and swishy hair. I had fun being young and sexy and I didn't have to take the needs of a child into consideration at the time.

i would have rather had my dc earlier as i have a theory that the earlier you have your dc the quicker and easier you get your looks and figure back - seems to be the case looking around at school anyway

i was young and gorgeous and cool

i am glad i was not a parent at the time i was far too self absorbed living the high life it was fun times

It depends what your priority is...I can never be bothered with the grooming for something as pointless as the school drop off, but feel lovely when I make an effort to go out for the evening.

I would rather have a cuddle in bed than get up early to make myself up - totally pointless imo, I suppose it's just what makes them feel good - each to their own....

33 is not old though op and if you say they are ten years younger than you and have 3/4 dc that would be very hard work and consuming so they must be exhausted poor things....

Lordy me. I am an older mum [err over 45 with 2 young children]. 33 OLD... ha, ha!!
Mind you, yummy mummys are not that noticeable at our primary.. in the minority I'd say. Young and older seem equally harassed.

I'm certainly not jealous of the dads with the swishy upgrade wives at our school! Mainly ugly old buggers with lots of lolly personality.

I'm 24 with a 5 and 2yr old. But I'm not skinny and I feel like I'm about 70 most days. I think I'm the youngest by about 10yrs. Everyone is lovely and we really get along but they are all married and own theie own homes so I do feel a bit silly compared to them sometimes.

I'm amazed that all these teen mothers are classily-dressed, skinny and subtly made up- I'd expect more Vicky Pollard tbh. Curious about the demographic of your area..

I'll tell you whats depressing. It's being the youngest mum in the playground aged 28 and STIll being thefrumpy one!

i am jealous of them too and i am 23. the yummies at our school are late 20s- early 40s though and very cliquey. im the mum with the possible asd child that everyone ignores
