to think that vomitting into a carrier bag in the middle of a cafe is not on, even if it is 'just morning sickness'

Was in a cafe this lunch time with my parents and my DD, a lady came in with three other adults and a toddler and sat at one of the tables, they were about halfway through their lunch when the lady took a carrier bag out of her handbag, vomitted into it, tied a knot in it and put it under her chair next to some shopping bags. She then loudly talked to her fellow diners about it just being morning sickness and picked at her remaining food.

Don't get me wrong, I remember the morning sickness days well, it's a horrible feeling, I don't miss it, BUT this was a cafe, other people are eating and there was a well-signed toilet a few metres from her table - did she really need to do that?

Fortunately it wasn't a carrier bag with holes........

Tunip. True.

My crowning glory was when I woke up in the middle of the night, to find my self already in the bathroom and over the sink.

Auto chuck my dh so charmingly called it.

crashdoll · 12/10/2012 21:06

Fine, scottishmummy, you had to vom in eateries but most people don't need to be there!

Tuttutitlookslikerain · 12/10/2012 21:07

I am the same Inneedofabrandy. I avoid all sorts of places incase someone pukes near me. Never, ever did I think someone would think it acceptable to puke at a table in a cafe!

crashdoll · 12/10/2012 21:08

It's more embarrassing to dispose of vomit than it is to keep it in a bag under your chair? Now I've heard it all!

nkf · 12/10/2012 21:08

Someone ought to start a cafe for morning sickness sufferers. Napkins and bags provided. Free eat all you like buffet and a prize for the "strangest place I've upchucked." story.

I had hg made considerable provision.hand gel, bag, yellow waste sack
leaving a bag of boak under chair is nutty and v gross
so far on mn today been bag of piss and bag of boak. nice

Inneedofbrandy · 12/10/2012 21:10

Tut I don't go out with my friends that get rat arsed because they might puke. I think when I'm stuck somewhere what if I puke/they puke randomly. I can't even touch my dc if there ill.

I don't think/hope not that in RL no one would find this acceptable to do. PFFTT about embarssed, if your not embarssed to go out and puke in front of people you should not feel ashamed to dispose of said puke.

She left it there though and from the sound it, for longer than several minutes.

Inneedofbrandy · 12/10/2012 21:13

I think everyone saying about terrible MS is chatting out their arses to! When I had morning sickness think hospitalised and gawd knows how many different pills it was all I could do to move off sofa, any movement set me off and I could not even when over the worst of it sit in a cafe full of smells. The girl in the cafe didn't have bad MS she is a dirty lazy cow pah!

brandy it's not a competition who had worse hg
talkin out arse is recommending pg. women dont eat out in case they hurl
bag of boak under chair is well gross

nkf · 12/10/2012 21:20

It is a bit competitive though.

crashdoll · 12/10/2012 21:21

Don't be such a drama llama, no one suggested that pregnant women don't eat out! We suggested that if a pregnant woman suffers from severe sickness to not hang out in eateries and vomit into bags if it can be avoided.

HoneyDragon · 12/10/2012 21:21

Brandy

I was 6 stone at 6 months pg. I am not talking out my arse. I collapsed twice at work, but when not in hospital being rehydrated I had to pay the mortgage Hmm

That sort of comment is why the HG threads on here see so many distraught women Sad

nkf · 12/10/2012 21:21

It's horrible to throw up in a bag....(you all know what comes next.)
Being pregnant is not some get out of jail free card where everyone has to not mind that you have done something disgusting.

Inneedofbrandy · 12/10/2012 21:24

So when I compare my MS to the the cafe girl suddenly I'm competitive but not anyone else who has posted about theirs? Or those who understands this girl barfing in a cafe.

I actually cannot believe people think this is normal.

monkeysbignuts · 12/10/2012 21:24

I had hg with my first baby and fuck me was I poorly!! I was sick over 20x a day and wore the enamel off my teeth.
however no way would I be sick in a bag in front of people and leave it there to fester :O that's grim

Inneedofbrandy · 12/10/2012 21:24

Honey dragon that is being competitive right there!

scottishmummy · 12/10/2012 21:25

When working and pg I didn't hang out in eateries.
I was too busy working
who hangs out in eateries, probably those with nowt much to do I'd suggest

Casserole · 12/10/2012 21:26

Agree with Brandy. I couldn't have set foot in a cafe when I had hyperemesis. I couldn't set foot in a supermarket for months. Actually for weeks I could barely leave the house. Apart from when they took me to hospital.

This was a woman with other women, a toddler and shopping bags. if she was well enough to do that I would venture she was almost certainly able to make it 2 metres to the toilet, and if she was well enough to eat again immediately afterwards she was certainly well enough to take the fucking bag outside

I used to have to kneel on the same bit of the hard shoulder of the M25 many mornings later on in my pregnancy, when the hyperemesis decreased to "just" morning sickness. I get that you have to carry on. But so does everyone else around you and that woman's behaviour was not appropriate.

One more for good measure and I'm off.

HoneyDragon · 12/10/2012 21:26

No but being unwell is HG is an illness, not pregnancy.

How the woman in question handled it is totally grim I agree.

But it's a non contagious illness so the only way to function is to get on with it and practise good hygiene. This the woman in question did not do.

Inneedofbrandy · 12/10/2012 21:27

Apparently when your pregnant you are allowed to ask a policeman for his hat to wee in. Did anyone think this was acceptable and do because they were pregnant?
