is too much? Mine cost £5 from sainsburys. Does anyone here actually buy these things?

Thanks married - I popped into town and ended up with the Freya Deco strapless, in the smaller size, just as you said! Thank you Smile

Glitterknickaz · 10/10/2012 18:18

It's nice not being a JJ any more.
An H cup still isn't supermarket availability, but it's not so boggling.

IneedAgoldenNickname · 10/10/2012 18:51

If I dig out a tape measure will you lovely ladies tell me my size please? Everywhere I go measures me up differently, all say that my back size doesn't match up to my waist size, and I've yet to get a comfy bra!

StatisticallyChallenged · 10/10/2012 19:03

we will tel you where to start and what to look for in a good bra :)

StatisticallyChallenged · 10/10/2012 19:04

Measure firmly under your bust, and then more loosely over wearing your best fitting bra. If your best fitting bra is dire, take it off, bend over, and measure around your boobs (loosely) with them hanging down roughly perpendicular to your body.

(the cup is the harder bit to get from a measurement but once the back is right the cup is easier)

Boomerwang · 10/10/2012 19:09

Hazlenut I got fitted twice at Bravissimo as I'd put on weight the second time around. After having a baby I haven't been measured again I'm just wearing my manky old maternity bras as I put on even more weight. I'm something humongous like a 40F/G now.

I used to be a 34DD Sad

Boomerwang · 10/10/2012 19:14

Btw the last bra I got from Bravissimo was this:

Jolie

...and it fit like a dream.

coffeeinbed · 10/10/2012 19:42

Off to measure again...

coffeeinbed · 10/10/2012 19:45

Nah... same thing.

IneedAgoldenNickname · 10/10/2012 20:23

Ok finally got kids to bed, washed up etc etc, I've measured myself as 42, and 48/49

StatisticallyChallenged · 10/10/2012 20:36

I would start with a 42 e and f and work from there.

IneedAgoldenNickname · 10/10/2012 20:48

Thanks! I'm currently in 46d!

StatisticallyChallenged · 10/10/2012 20:52

You should notice a big difference going down a couple of backs. The 42e is the same cup as in the 46d, just a smaller back.

How disappointing. I bet you get takers on ebay. I'm planning to sell one of my R&P bras that's a little too big for me now on ebay the next time there's a free listing weekend! AP don't do my size unfortunately or I'd be sending DH there with a list!

No idea about the knickers but I know what you mean. My R&P ones (splashed out as the colour bras I bought would have been hard to match that's my excuse anyway) are nice material though. Sort of chiffon and silk stuff.

TheSandstoneCat · 11/10/2012 16:14

YABU - and I can only assume you take a small bra size. Best thing I ever did was going to R&P for a proper fitting. I did buy two bras for a total of £90 ( my choice - not a hard sell) and they have so dramatically transformed me that I really consider it to be a worthwhile investment. I have rediscovered my waist line, banished my back ache and improved the way my clothes hang on me. I would rather spend my money on an expensive, good bra (though a cheap good bra would be better!!) and save a bit on the clothes I wear on top!

BadgersGhostlyRetreatWoo · 11/10/2012 16:19

R & P is a lovely shop - all those drawers full of nuffs....

Fantasie and Freya are both great. Warners and Triumph did some nice ones too - not bought any of them for a while now tho.

i went to a local independant shop recently as i find bra shopping a bloody nightmare (34F / FF) and they were around the 120 pound mark! Nearly fell over.

scooted DH out of the shop much to his disgust and went straight to Bravissimo instead online...good old Bravissimo. It's just the sending back that costs me a fortune if it doesn't fit/don't like it.

SorrelForbes · 11/10/2012 16:23

Has anyone come across this make before? Beautiful but sooooo pricey.

Just realised that one of the UK stockists is in the next village along from my sister. Might have to pop along some time. Just for a look you understand.

JenFrankenstein · 11/10/2012 16:44

Well I've just been and ordered 3 bras so I'll report back when they arrive

SorrelForbes · 11/10/2012 16:49

Excellent. Where did you order from?
