To stop giving a shit and get fat!

Im a 10 on top 12 on bottem, this can to yo up and down slightly. Im dreading a life time of denying myself cake biscuits cheese and nachos. Why can't I let myself go ( as my mother would say) and stop giving a shit and just eat cake. Whats going to be so bad if I end up a 14/16?

What's so good about staying a 10/12 I would love to be a 6/8 if I could, but hey I love food and I want cake every day so fuck it, it's winter and I'm going to get fat!

Agreed with Captain, it;s twee, it's not something that's "allowed" to be said, but being thin felt amazing and I miss it. I'd take being a size eight again over cake. Everytime.

I fit into things, I didn't jiggle when I run, I felt healthier. My body doesn't need the fat it carries now, it's just cake basically, and crisps and too much time on the games console instead of running.

Inneedofbrandy · 24/09/2012 22:23

I was thinking weekend starts Friday night...

Ivy so basically exercise is pointless finally someone who agrees with me HA yippee I won't feel bad about not starting back running!

Have a look at the 5:2 diet threads in the Weightloss Topic on mn. Put simply you "fast" by eating a very small amount of calories (500 for a woman) on two non-consecutive days of the week and you don't diet or count calories on the other five days. People have had amazing results with this.

TalkinPeace2 · 24/09/2012 22:26

Come and join the land of 5:2
it works
AND you get to eat what you want most of the week ....

Inneedofbrandy · 24/09/2012 22:27

I've haven't been a 8 since school, I have big bones ( not in a cartman way) and quite tall, when I'm a 10 all over im way to boney. Don't want to loose weight just stay what I am and eat cake and cheese and anything I feel like when I feel like it.

I will thank you ladies, sounds interesting...

PunkInDublic · 24/09/2012 22:31

It's not about being an 8, it's about what feels right. If you're too boney when you're a ten an 8 would be awful. You cannot up your calories, do no extra exercise and stay the same, it will creep up. I only said what I said as when mine weight crept up I thought I wouldn't care and I did. Yes I'm shallow and vain, but I wasn't happy.

Seems running or 5:2 may be your answer.

Inneedofbrandy · 24/09/2012 22:36

Yes punk I think I would feel frumpy and blaaa if I got bigger. I'm quite shallow to, more in summer when I want to wear dresses.

I just get so tired of thinking about it and not being a teenager and able to eat everything all the time.

pinkyp · 24/09/2012 22:36

I eat anything I want! I'm curreny a 14/16 (still not lost baby weight). Usually a 12 and can eat what I want within moderation then. I was a size 6 once, but I didn't eat. I'm happy with my size, buy flattering clothes.

becsparkel · 24/09/2012 22:46

YANBU, read Fat is a Feminist Issue, it's seriously brilliant.

WorraLiberty · 24/09/2012 23:25

FFS if smoking was a feminist issue would you say she's not being unreasonable to do that either?

Or is good health not a feminist issue either?

QuintessentialShadows · 24/09/2012 23:30

I can assure you that being size 16 is not much fun. Once you get here, you still need to stop eating cake and cheese to ensure you dont end up size 18, then 22, then eventually 26.

Because, guess what, once you get into the habit of enjoying cake and cheese, your weight wont stop at 16, it will keep going up, until you

  1. stop eating.
  2. start exercising.

So, if you want to eat cake and cheese, you need to ensure you go to the gym 3 times per week at least for a serious work out
, then you can indulge pretty much as much as you want.

TalkinPeace2 · 24/09/2012 23:32

You SHOULD give a shit and not get fat.
Apologists for the West's increasing waistlines are fools.

A healthy weight means a healthy body - which will not lead to a medicated, disabled old age.

The nice thing with 5:2 is that its simple enough for men to follow - and it REALLY IS about time some of our husbands got slim enough to see their toes (let alone willies) when standing up.

CaliforniaLeaving · 25/09/2012 02:17

Zumba and my fitness pal did it for me, I didn't need to lose a lot, but I'm down a couple of dress sizes and feel amazing and energetic.
Start slow, I promised myself one visit to the fitness studio weekly, they asked why I didn't come more and looked at me sideways when I said I was building up to it, three years later I'm still going only up to 5 hours a week and theres only a handful of others who were going when I started, the others all gave up, went too much, made themselves too achy and burned out fast.
I didn't really change much in my diet the first year, just watched portions then as time went by I ate better and better.
One saying that sticks in my head. Skinny women look good in clothes, Fit women look good naked. I'm getting fitter by the day.

StuntGirl · 25/09/2012 02:51

I eat a bar of chocolate pretty much every day, cake at least once a week and I've lost weight. Because the rest of my meals are sensible and I exercise. If I can't/won't do a work out I go for a walk; it doesn't feel like exercise but it's still burning calories.

runningforme · 25/09/2012 03:59

I eat pretty much what I want and stay between a size 8-10. But I run. I run a bloody lot. Like 4-5 times a week, covering an average of about 40km. But I do it because I love cake. And I love chocolate. And I love creamy, sugary coffee, and steaming plates of pasta, roast dinners etc....I just love FOOD. So I eat what I want and then I run. But I should also note that, apart from the sweet treats and the crisps, I cook everything pretty much from scratch, and rarely eat out.

WandaDoff · 25/09/2012 04:57

Personally, I'm a right greedy, fat, bastard, much more than I used to be.

I hate to admit it but I savour every greedy, fattening minute.

God I love Ebay.

fatlazymummy · 25/09/2012 08:09

I agree with talkingpeace2. Fat is a health issue, not a feminist one.
On a related note, why do so many women insist on defining their weight by the size of their clothing? Haven't they heard of vanity sizing?
Weight is measured by BMI/ body fat %/ waist/hip/height ratio.

katykuns · 25/09/2012 08:14

You will regret it when you become the size I am at a size 24.

Having to do a search around lots of different shops for clothes that fit (and they all look pretty hideous). Getting through a pregnancy that was marked at high risk, and having consultants treat you like a complete moron - 'you must eat more vegetables, you can't live on junk food'.
Not to mention being physically unfit, constantly tired, and having people make fun of me.

That's why if I had a second chance, I would be more careful.
Sorry if that sounded preachy.

thebeesnees79 · 25/09/2012 08:15

I wouldn't be happy larger. I am 37+2 with my third baby and my size freaks me out at the minute. I can't wait to get slim and back into my tens! I would love to be an 8, but its not natural for me without a lot of diet and working out

ThreeWheelsGood · 25/09/2012 08:16

Well eat more but move more too! I thought I hated exercise but joined good local gym and loved it. Went 3 times a week, didn't change my diet, still lost weight and got fitter!

LizLemon007 · 25/09/2012 08:19

NYANBU

I am a size ten but it takes willpower and exercise. I'd get a podgey tummy the moment I relaxed and had a biscuit with my tea ykwim?

I do sometimes wonder if I'll be doing jillian michaels when i'm 55? when will i just roll with nature.....

MadBusLady · 25/09/2012 08:21

It's not all it's cracked up to be, being able to eat cake all the time, it's basically the only nice thing you can still do. Being fat made me feel physically shit, puffing after buses, wheezing down stairs, and (this was weird) I stopped looking like myself. I wasn't just me but with a big belly/arse, I was this other person with a whole different face, expression and demeanour.

I'm generally about half a stone heavier in winter though.

CanIOfferYouAPombear · 25/09/2012 08:25

Why would you want to be fat? Confused

Treats are very nice but you can't have them for every meal every day, that's just bonkers! You'll end up very fat and regret it very much.

There's plenty of healthy foods that taste delicious. You can still have treats, just don't be ridiculous about it.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 25/09/2012 08:30

Running is greAt, get back to it!

Putting on weight will not make you happy, you will be heavier and more miserable voice of experience and your health will be worse.

Get running, everything in moderation. That's what I do, works ok most of the time.
