or rather is hubby? He runs a schoolwear shop which is used a fair deal by kids at the local schools and independants as well. Recently he he received an email supposedly from an adult asking to come in and try on a uniform and buy (full blazer, jumper, skirt getup). First time he ignored, emailed again and he politely said they only have childrens sizes. He just doesn't think its appropriate and also unhygenic if an adult trys on stuff that later goes to a child. Why would an adult want a real school uniform?

Why's an adult trying something on any less hygienic than, say, a teenager trying it on?

Does he only sell primary uniform? Because plenty of teenagers are "adult-sized".

maybe sex,or a fancy dress party, who knows, if they buy it then why would it matter?

and as a lot of children will be in adult sizes long before they finish school, saying you only have child sizes is odd, unless you only stock primary age uniforms, which would be a limited market.

How would it be unhygienic? Could be as innocent as a fancy dress party. If an adult is trying on adult sizes, then a child wouldn't later buy it, surely.

But surely lots of secondary school pupils are wearing adult sizes?

Does your husband not stock uniform for secondary school aged pupils? Only my ds2 was already well over 6ft tall in year 11 and his uniform would have fitted most adults - and swamped many!

Also, what is so unsavoury about an adult wanting a school uniform, let alone wanting to try one on? Do adults carry with them some sort of terrible, contagious, filth that will infect the next child who innocently tries on the same blazer?

And how do you know it was an adult?

Did they say "hi, I am 42 and want a uniform?"

How do you know the adult isnt the size of a child/teenager? Why would replying that they only have children's sizes put her off?

And WTF is he expecting them to do when in the changing room? Wank all over the uniform? I fail to understand why its inappropriate, as long as the trying on happens in a cubicle.

Tell "hubby" that he should refuse to sell it if he has such a moral objection. Or get on with it and take the money.

I 'work' in the school uniform shop in our primary school and we stock adults XL. Did they ask if your husband stocked adult sizes? It might be a large child.

DCs school have 18 and 19 yr olds in the 6th form, who all wear uniforms.

DS1 was 6ft 3 and 40in chest and 36 inch waist and size12 in year 10
He has always been lanky and those are pretty adult sizes for a 14 year old kid as he was then!

I can't imagine it's the first school uniform someone has bought for having sex in (assume that's the plan). His choice of whether to sell it,though isn't a sale a sale? Is the uniform for a woman or man?
As for being unhygienic,just how long will they be in the fitting room?!

Why does he care who wears the clothes after someone has bought them, is that any of his business? Wouldn't he rather have the sale?

Also, who emails a shop owner to ask if they can come in and try something on...wouldn't you just turn up? Did this really happen? What did the email say, exactly?
