Watching now. Teenagers being arrested. Parents seem to think that's fine and part of growing up. I cannot believe people like that exist...

I hope Andreas daughter managed to get to university.

gordyslovesheep · 17/09/2012 22:01

I hope she escaped

TheOriginalNutcracker · 17/09/2012 22:02

Didn't they say Andrea looked after a sibling too ?? I hope that doesn't stop her going to uni.

Byecklove · 17/09/2012 22:02

But what about her little brother?

Byecklove · 17/09/2012 22:04

You should be very proud of yourself, Brighthair. Don't know how you do it...

cbeebiesinducedcoma · 17/09/2012 22:04

I like how that policeman told off the twins alchoholic parents, I wonder if those children have ever really been told how bad their behaviour is.

Shesparkles · 17/09/2012 22:05

hi 5s bright hair as a police dispatcher

I need to watch this on +1 as I didn't catch the start, but let's just say when I started my job 12ish years ago, it was a VERY steep learning curve from my mollycoddled suburban life! Still love doing the job though!

Flojo1979 · 17/09/2012 22:05

Awww I missed it, is there a repeat on? Does channel 4 come on iplayer?

mamasr · 17/09/2012 22:07

I don't even know where to start.. That little 6 month baby who's mother didn't even get prosecuted!?!?! How!?!?

Something needs to change because those poor kids do not deserve any of that.. It's heartbreaking!!!

Blatherskite · 17/09/2012 22:07

Utterly, utterly depressing. Off to tuck my babies in and give them an extra kiss Sad

brighthair · 17/09/2012 22:07

Grin we don't always cope, we are human (honestly)
I've finished a shift and sat and sobbed about a call that I've had, and I think most of my colleagues have as well. Different things touch different people

Shesparkles · 17/09/2012 22:08

Flojo you should get it on 4OD- hope so anyway as that's what I'm hoping to see it on!

mybootsaremuddy · 17/09/2012 22:11

Me and DH are both Shock and Sad at this programe.

I feel sorry for all the children in it (yes even the teens)....... Maybe if thier parents had not been utterly crap, lazy fuckwits and actualy disciplined their children when younger and taught them some respect for themselves and others these teens would not be in the trouble they are today.

I couldnt belive the total I dont give a fuck attitude lack of concern of the parents in this. If any of my DC got bought home in a police car for bad behaviour they would be grounded for life.

beingagoodmumishard · 17/09/2012 22:13

Just started watching it on Channel 4 +1

meboo · 17/09/2012 22:19

A Fiver!!!!!!!

WokingOnSunshine · 17/09/2012 22:19

Just watching it on +1, the £5 prostitute woman seems to have had a hard life. Learning difficulties, or just drink + drugs (or both)?

WokingOnSunshine · 17/09/2012 22:22

Hmm, Logan, what a charmer.

WokingOnSunshine · 17/09/2012 22:24

It's quite obvious that these kids can behave horrifically antisocially and the police don't have the resources to deal with them, so they just get away with it. The levels of acceptable scumminess seem to be very high indeed.

No wonder you end up with situations with this one: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2112609/Family-mother-killed-daughter-committed-suicide-years-abuse-yobs-wins-figure-payout-police.html

TheTermagantToaster · 17/09/2012 22:27

I have to say I was unimpressed that all the blame was automatically on the mother regarding the 6 month old. I mean, who was that bloke? Even if he wasn't the father, surely he could have put the baby in a safe place rather than just watching it fall of the side and then dialling 999? Hmm

treedelivery · 17/09/2012 22:27

Not shocked at all tbh.

I've worked in NHS all my life and am unshockable. I've seen too much too often. It almost feels normal some days!

TheTermagantToaster · 17/09/2012 22:27

Off not of. Need to go to bed.

I actually nearly cried when Andrea's daughter was telling the police about her A Level results... imagine if the police officers attending to your mother were the only adults who took an interest in your achievements. :(

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 17/09/2012 23:08

What utterly go smacked me was that Andrea thinks she's done 95% of a good job of parenting! Her dd has done well at school and is going on to university despite Andrea's 'parenting' not because of it.

SirGOLDBoobs · 17/09/2012 23:13

Some of that show actually horrified me. Andrea needs a fucking wake up call if she thinks she's doing an okay job 95% of the time - when the police officers are visiting regularly enough to discuss A Level results with your daughter, you are not doing okay.

The two year old boy walking around outside Shock HOW THE FUCK COULD YOU NOT REALISE UNTIL AN HOUR HAD PASSED THAT YOUR TWO YEAR OLD HAD LEFT THE HOUSE?! Disgusting.

And the way that Logan's mum was so casual about what he had done...

Jesus.
