She is such a beautiful woman, but she looks old and drawn since she got "hollywood skinny". She looked so much better when she had a little more weight on her, not much, still slim, but not super skinny.

Her eyes and cheeks are sunken, her teeth and eyes looks too big for her head and her neck is quite scrawny. Just put half a stone on love!

I don't think it's that easy really.

When some people are stressed/over worked etc, they gain weight and others lose it.

In my personal experience I've always found it much easier to lose weight than to gain it.

BoerWarKids · 14/09/2012 00:03

YABU.

I hate the culture of women's bodies being openly critiqued and commented on.

MrsMiniversCharlady · 14/09/2012 00:05

I agree, she looks well rough

NCForNow · 14/09/2012 00:08

I thought she looked gorgeous here in the Daily Fail with the shockingly hot Phillip Glenister.

[faints]

WorraLiberty · 14/09/2012 00:08

MrsMiniversCharlady that's how I imagine one or two regular posters to look...then they post their ages and they're like 30 or something Blush

OhDearNigel · 14/09/2012 00:09

shockingly hot Phillip Glenister.

Nooooooooooooooooooo Shock. Although I will give you the "shockingly hot" bit. He looks drenched in sweat [boak]

NCForNow · 14/09/2012 00:11

Nigel he's to DIE for! I would possibly leave DH if Phillip called. DH knows this. He has said the same about Cameron Diaz.

{in truth we'd both crap ourselves}

MrsMiniversCharlady · 14/09/2012 00:12

Hahahahaha that's not Phillip Glenister, that's some alkie who tried to gatecrash.

Surely???? Confused

MrDobalina · 14/09/2012 00:17

i agree with boer
leave her alone

NCForNow · 14/09/2012 00:20

Oh they all look a bit damp MrsMinever...that venue is underneath some club...it's like being in a crypt!

TeaBrick · 14/09/2012 00:22

She looks very, very, thin indeed.

bogeyface · 14/09/2012 00:23

Why isnt it ok to say that someone is too thin?

Some people are too fat and that is commented on all the time. Being too thin can be a health issue too, and creates a very bad role model for young girls.

Emilia Fox is too thin for her body type. The same way that when I am a size 10 I look ill, old and drawn as I have a bigger build than a "natural" 10. I wasnt offended when people told me that!

OP posts:
MrDobalina · 14/09/2012 00:25

but why would you bogey?
to what end?

bogeyface · 14/09/2012 00:26

Looking at those Daily Fail photos....Donna Air has a slimmer face, arms and legs and yet looks far healthier. Because she is naturally skinny, EF isnt and just cant carry it off with her bone structure and body type.

OP posts:
bogeyface · 14/09/2012 00:26

Why would I what Mr?

OP posts:
Viperidae · 14/09/2012 00:28

Apparently a graph of mortality against weight is a J shaped curve so it is actually unhealthier to be too thin than a bit overweight

MrDobalina · 14/09/2012 00:29

why would you say EF was to thin?
for what purpose do you comment on whether someone is too fat or too thin?

bogeyface · 14/09/2012 00:42

Because it isnt her natural look or shape. So there is a good chance that she has worked very hard to be that thin and it doesnt suit her. It isnt natural and it isnt normal.

I dont want my daughters to think that it is. I would much rather hold up how she looks when first came onto our screens as a good look for a young woman.....healthy, happy, very pretty.

Slim is one thing, unhealthily skinny is another.

BoerWarKids · 14/09/2012 08:43

MrDobalina looks like we're in the minority

MrDobalina · 14/09/2012 10:02

i cant comment on whether EF shape/weight is 'normal' Hmm, not even sure it isn't healthy

maybe she isn't a healthy weight??? maybe that is due to stress/bereavement...we have no idea what is going on in EF life

I do see what OP is saying

But i think the best defence for our dds against subliminal media/marketing pressure to look a certain way is to not discuss/judge other womens body shape/weight...in doing so you just perpetuate the problem

We should be focusing more on what our bodies can do...and how great it feels to be fit and healthy

HmmThinkingAboutIt · 14/09/2012 10:05

YABU

Its not acceptable to comment that someone should eat less.
Its equally rude and bitchy to say 'eat more pies'.

Both could be for social reasons; both both could be for mental health reasons.

Have a Biscuit and find something worthwhile in life to worry about, rather than adding to Celebrity Pie Watch.

HmmThinkingAboutIt · 14/09/2012 10:06

or indeed physical health reasons, I meant to say.

WorraLiberty · 14/09/2012 10:09

rather than adding to Celebrity Pie Watch

That made me dribble coffee Grin Grin

FushiaFernica · 14/09/2012 10:18

Not sure she looks too thin-or maybe my eyes are warped. Maybe you feel she is too thin because of how she looked when she was younger. I saw her on the Antiques Road Trip yesterday and when I watching it felt quite envious of her figure, she does wear some lovely clothes.

Ephiny · 14/09/2012 10:57

Of course you can think she's too thin, but it's a bit strange to want her to put weight on. It's not her responsibility to be a role model for your daughters.

I think some people are too fat, but I don't particularly care whether they lose weight or not, it doesn't affect me in any way.
