To lock our bollard into place?

Someone has parked on our drive for the third time this week - I have no idea who they are as both times they've been there when I come back from the morning school run and gone when I come back from the evening one.

The last owners of our house installed a small bollard that can be pulled up from the ground and padlocked in place. It makes it impossible to get into our out of the drive. I've already left 2 polite notes asking them not to park on our drive. AIBU if I lock the bollard and go out for a few hours?

oh i am so impressed at all the tales here

my moment was as nothing compared...we have a walled garden, five houses inside, we are the end one and have a drive, one of the neighbours must have had someone in to quote for some work and they had parked on my drive

so i just parked behind them and told them off when they had to ask to be allowed home. ...dh said I was not allowed to tell them to eff off! :D

whatsleep · 13/09/2012 17:30

Hello

marking my place

cfc · 13/09/2012 17:31

Who has the sheer brass bollocks to park on someone else's proiperty?! Wow.

Lock her in. No way would I be afraid of the possible repercussions - but I'm a brassy old bitch.

It's an offence to park across a dropped kerb if you are blocking someone in, but not out iyswim? Suppose you need to get to the hosp.

Good luck op!

Thistledew · 13/09/2012 17:33

Not quite the same, but my parents have a long drive that goes past their house and up the garden. It is clearly a private drive and not a public road or right of way. One evening a while ago, they noticed a group of 3 people in rambling clothes walking up the path. My dad went out to challenge them and ask them what they were doing "Oh" they said "We thought it looked interesting and we wanted to come and have a look". They did not appear to be the slightest bit abashed by the fact they were by this point standing in the middle of my parents' lawn, and got quite huffy when dad suggested that that they leave pdq before he made things even more 'interesting' for them!

PunkInDublic · 13/09/2012 17:41

This thread is why the house is still messy. I know OP said six, but what if I miss it!

blueraincoat · 13/09/2012 17:41

I got the bus home from work instead of walking to be in at 6.

That is sad isn't it...
