To lock our bollard into place?

Someone has parked on our drive for the third time this week - I have no idea who they are as both times they've been there when I come back from the morning school run and gone when I come back from the evening one.

The last owners of our house installed a small bollard that can be pulled up from the ground and padlocked in place. It makes it impossible to get into our out of the drive. I've already left 2 polite notes asking them not to park on our drive. AIBU if I lock the bollard and go out for a few hours?

Marking place!

CumberdickBendybatch · 13/09/2012 16:42

Fantastic thread, hope the car owners aren't psychotic though!

RuleBritannia · 13/09/2012 16:43

Hour and three quarters to go!

We ought to have terraced seating at the venue.

MrsTerrysChocolateOrange · 13/09/2012 16:45

Why are we waiting, why are we waiting?

poorbuthappy · 13/09/2012 16:46

Ahem...just making myself comfortable...Smile

albertswearengen · 13/09/2012 16:46

Yikes- you are brave. I would've parked over the entrance so they couldn't get out. Then you could come up with some bullshit about thinking it was a friend of your other halfs rather than locking them in. Plus they wouldn't know it was your car and they would have to wait for ages.

Redbindy · 13/09/2012 16:47

Place marking for when I get back from the pub.

Please put my apologies in the Minutes because I'll be watching a bit of Downton Abbey. I'll probably be late to the meeting.

EldritchCleavage · 13/09/2012 17:00

OP, take your 'phone out with you when the driver(s) come back. If they look even vaguely unpleasant, hold up the 'phone and ask them to speak up because you're streaming it all live to your Facebook friends. That should cut down the chances of whoever it is kicking off.

PunkInDublic · 13/09/2012 17:01

ONE HOUR

MrsReiver · 13/09/2012 17:01

Outstanding - counting the minutes to 6pm!

skyebluesapphire · 13/09/2012 17:03

(gets popcorn, pulls up chair)

urbanturban · 13/09/2012 17:03

Another HOUR to wait...?!! Grin

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 13/09/2012 17:03

Is it just me who thinks this is a terrible idea?

I suppose it's done now. I would very much make sure though that the children are NOT around when the inevitable ugliness ensues on the drive. If the OP is reading this on her smartphone in Pizza Express; have your friend keep an eye on them for a bit.

StripyShoes · 13/09/2012 17:03

Brilliant thread!

MrsCampbellBlack · 13/09/2012 17:04

Waiting with baited breath

BlackberryIce · 13/09/2012 17:04

Ha ha this could be one of those threads where op never cones back......
