To lock our bollard into place?

Someone has parked on our drive for the third time this week - I have no idea who they are as both times they've been there when I come back from the morning school run and gone when I come back from the evening one.

The last owners of our house installed a small bollard that can be pulled up from the ground and padlocked in place. It makes it impossible to get into our out of the drive. I've already left 2 polite notes asking them not to park on our drive. AIBU if I lock the bollard and go out for a few hours?

I like to imagine she's been back since six and is simply taking so long to write us all an epic blow by blow account of events.

She said she'd be back at 6pm.

Altercation lasts for at least 20-30 mins.

Calming down/sorting out house etc for another 20-30 mins.

We won't be hearing from OP until past 7pm.

I returned to find young lady in floods of tears in her car. We had a little chat and she told me that she's a new carer for a very disabled man who also has learning difficulties. He lives in the next road with no parking and he'd TOLD her to park in my drive as I am a friend (true) and he didn't think I'd mind. She'd shown him the notes and he said not to worry and he'd sort it out.

I did get a message from him last night askign me to call him but was bathing children but hadn't got round to phoning him back.

I've explained that we do actually use the drive and she's going to have to find somewhere else - its all ended fairly amicably though still need to speak to my friend - he really should have ASKED ME FIRST.

sorry its all so tame and boring you were all hoping for fireworks

Now you can all get back to your normal lives and I can heat up the cottage pie I made this morning

PS actually got back at 5.30 as was feeling a little concerned as to wht may happen hence early update
