To lock our bollard into place?

Someone has parked on our drive for the third time this week - I have no idea who they are as both times they've been there when I come back from the morning school run and gone when I come back from the evening one.

The last owners of our house installed a small bollard that can be pulled up from the ground and padlocked in place. It makes it impossible to get into our out of the drive. I've already left 2 polite notes asking them not to park on our drive. AIBU if I lock the bollard and go out for a few hours?

Why does everyone think the person will turn up at 6?

fryingpantoface · 13/09/2012 18:11

Shamelessly marking my place

Grin Do we need to NC now?

greenplastictrees · 13/09/2012 18:13

Can't believe the driver is being so selfish as to not return at 6pm. It's almost as bad as parking on the drive. I'm above ground now and waiting for an update. You can tell the driver I'm very unimpressed op and think he's being very unreasonable! ;)

WellHello · 13/09/2012 18:13

Nah!

LulaPalooza · 13/09/2012 18:13

PuffPants - OP is due back at 6

The car owner apparently usually retrieves their car before OP returns from the afternoon school run so she hasn't been able to apprehend him/ her so far.

But now they are locked in with a bollard, they will hopefully be waiting in their car when OP gets home.

WellHello · 13/09/2012 18:14

Imagine if it all has a really boring outcome, like the driver apologises and goes on his merry way.

greenplastictrees · 13/09/2012 18:14

Maybe the embarrassment is too much for the driver. He might just not ever return (is it a nice car).

adeucalione · 13/09/2012 18:14

Driver has decided to work late and hasn't even seen the note yet...?
