To think Peaches Geldof should have strapped her baby in?

and also, put the phone down when her baby fell out of his pram!

Have just seen photos of her poor baby tumbling out of his pram onto a pavement. I know the council should have sorted the pavement out, but he wouldnt have fallen out if he was strapped in :(

sorry for The Sun link

Yes he should have been strapped in and I would have dropped the phone to pick up the baby!

MrsRajeshKoothrappali · 10/09/2012 09:46

At least she knows in her heart which is more important - her baby or her phone!

YouOldSlag · 10/09/2012 09:47

I can't believe she didn't interrupt her phone convo. Also, yes he should have been strapped in!

However I think she must be feeling a bit guilty as she has twittered about seven messages about the pavement. She also twittered "it's a good job he was strapped in" but he was clearly not.

scuzy · 10/09/2012 09:47

yes she should have strapped her baby in and out of instinct i would have dropped the phone straight away.

though at the same time i feel sorry for her. there were no paps there to snap my little man roll off the bed. but she most definately should have the child strapped in.

Pagwatch · 10/09/2012 09:47

Peaches Geldof Is A Bit Thick Shocker!

I am ever so glad I didn't have my new mother mistakes all over the press.

picnicbasketcase · 10/09/2012 09:47

Ffs. Yes he should, and yes she should. I didn't even know she had a baby. Never heard that name before either, I misread it as a weird spelling for Alistair to start with Blush

OhTheConfusion · 10/09/2012 09:51

Yes the baby should have been strapped in. The photographer however is a scumbag, who takes pictures of a possibly injured baby instead of helping?!? The sun should be ashamed for lining his pockets Angry

DuelingFanjo · 10/09/2012 09:52

oh come on, we all make mistakes. I remember trying to get my 8 week old up an escalator in a pram. Wasn't there a thread about all the stupid things we do as new mum's somewhere on here?

DisabilEightiesChick · 10/09/2012 09:52

Do you strap them in at 4 months? My DS was mainly lying down in the pram (bed style) then, I think, so didn't get strapped in. Would have helped if she'd looked where she was going and avoided the pothole - not being on the phone might have helped with that.

JustFabulous · 10/09/2012 09:52

I think this thread will just be one long bitch about her.

I coicidentally nearly fell down the stairs yesterday and was rather surprised I didn't drop my phone to save myself. Clearly I do not care more about my phone than anything else.

Having just spent all day in hospital with my child watching him fade before my eyes, I can safely say that no parent loves anything more than their child.

Leave her alone. She made a mistake not strapping him in but she will never forget again. Most of us have done things, or had an accident which has meant our child has been hurt. Do you all want to bitch about us?

YouOldSlag · 10/09/2012 09:55

JustFabulous, I am so sorry. Thanks

LST · 10/09/2012 09:56

I've always strapped my DS in even when he was a tiny newborn. And she should of at least stoping talking. Poor kid.

LadyBeagleEyes · 10/09/2012 09:56

I think the picture was taken the second the baby fell out, I'm sure she put the phone away immediately.

porcamiseria · 10/09/2012 09:57

this reminds me of when my maxicosi pram fell over on a bus cos I was not holding t, and bus did a very sharp corner

baby was about same age

you live and learn

i was on phone too!!!!

LST · 10/09/2012 09:57

I'm sorry justfabulous Sad

booksandchoc · 10/09/2012 09:58

He should have been strapped in, it wasn't a pram body bit he was in, it was a car seat. Which has straps. All new mothers do make mistakes but seriously that was a big one that could have been a tragedy.

Redknickerswillstoptrains · 10/09/2012 09:58

I tipped my 6 week old out of his car seat,he is fine ,he has just tuned 9.My pram (bed style)had no straps ,so how can you strap them in,everyone makes mistakes.

YouOldSlag · 10/09/2012 09:59

I think the picture was taken the second the baby fell out, I'm sure she put the phone away immediately.

No she didn't, she picked him up, gave him a cuddle and put him back but STAYED ON THE PHONE THE WHOLE TIME!

(Sorry, to my shame I saw further pics all over the mailonline)

JustFabulous · 10/09/2012 09:59

Thank you for the Flowers. DS is improving. I have never been so scared in all my life but am hopeful he will soon be fully well.

honeytea · 10/09/2012 10:01

I think the 1 handed pram pushing is an issue, I think 2 hands would have made the pram more stable and less likely to tip.

diddl · 10/09/2012 10:01

I can´t figure out how the pram fell over tbh.

The front wheels were stuck & she carried on pushing-but how did the whole thing tip over?Confused

shesariver · 10/09/2012 10:01

I have always had a flat traditional pram for all of mine - big carrycot style and NEVER strapped them in in this style of pram. Maybe the photo cuaght her just beofre she dropped the phone, who knows?

KnockKnockPenny · 10/09/2012 10:01

Hope your DS is ok JF Thanks

I think she nots to stop having whatever substance it is injected into her lips. She looks like a duck

onceortwice · 10/09/2012 10:02

I put my (then) 3 month old in his car seat.

POttered about getting my bag together.

Picked up car seat and bang I had forgotten to strap him in. He was fine.

My children have also falled off / out of the bed, fallen down stairs, etc., etc.,

The baby was OK, she was OK.

I'd love to be able to wear those shorts and shoes.

Give the girl a break. This is one of those occasions when all of us regulars should be very pleased there isn't a pap on every corner!
