For his disablist comments? I would like to anyone who shares my anger to post. His a ridiculous person and a crap comedian. I'm sure I must have missed a thread about him already... But can't find one...

Make sure they won't crash my laptop now won't you Shock

Lolwhut · 09/09/2012 13:14

dappydays. Did you think FB joke about Katie Price's son was acceptable or not? Straight answer appreciated.

I can enjoy (or at least not be offended by) lot of boundry pushing comedy but that 'joke' was something else.

MmeLindor · 09/09/2012 13:33

"I think, like j Carr, he uses offensive comedy as a social tool but I think a lot of his fans take him at face value."

Exactly, MayorQ

His edgy and experimental comedy only works for those who see what he is trying to do.

The fans who don't 'get' it, think it is what he really believes and it validates their vile opinions.

No matter what you think of Katie Price, naming and ridiculing her son just has to be taboo. There is simply no excuse for that.

Guitargirl · 09/09/2012 13:42

'I always thought it was teens who found people like him funny, not good but you do expect adults to know that ripping the piss out of disabled people is wrong on so many levels.'

Absolutely, I have always assumed he was the type to appeal to students with nothing better to do. I haven't followed any of the row about FB's 'jokes' about people with disabilites, partly because if he happens to appear on the TV screen when I am watching, I immediately turn it over. Man is an absolute waste of space and the fact that he gets paid to spout his drivel on television says a lot about what passes for 'entertainment' in this country.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 09/09/2012 13:44

A social tool to do what, though?

StepAwayFromTheORANGECakes · 09/09/2012 13:48

FB is a tosser and YANBU at all, hope he and Jimmy Carr end up out of work... but unfortunately there are too many people out there who seem to find offensive humour funny, shame on them.

jellyboatsandpirates · 09/09/2012 15:49

YANBU, he's a total and utter pillock. Since when is it 'comedy' to make fun of vulnerable people in society? The man's an idiot. Same goes for Jimmy Carr, he's just as bad with what he's come out with all in the name of raising a few laughs along the way.
If you have to resort to bullying in order to raise your profile and 'shock' yourself into the limelight, then you're a pretty talentless, shit comedian in my opinion.
Learn from the likes of Peter Kay, who raises laughs from inoffensive, harmless observations without resorting to disgusting behaviour towards members of society.
I did a blog post a while back about this when Jimmy Carr was in the news for doing the same type thing, and I despaired at some on FB who retorted 'they're only jokes' or he's only having a laugh.'
Yeah, at the expense of others. Nice. Hmm

jellyboatsandpirates · 09/09/2012 15:52

Oh, and I can't stand Jordan (vacuous bimbo in my opinion) but what Boyle said about Harvey was absolutely foul.
She's in the media, and puts herself up for scrutinizing daily by being a celeb - Harvey does NOT, he's an innocent child, and anyone who can find funny what he said about him needs their head read and to seriously look at themselves.

PropertyNightmare · 09/09/2012 16:29

I find it all a bit sad. FB is obviously talented and funny yet something drives him to the depths to which he so often plummets. I would guess he lacks in self confidence and belief in his own ability. Vile, offensive statements are a ridiculously simple way to guarentee coverage and publicity. It would be far harder to gain press coverage and interest by virtue of genuine comic brilliance. His remarks about Harvey Price were hateful - any of us could spout nasty, vile crap like this. No talent required. Most of us have too much respect for ourselves and others to go down that road. Poor FB must despise himself, tbh. It must hurt to be aware that you retain fame this cheap, easy way. He has sold himself out.

He's a nasty man with no redeeming qualities, whatsoever.

Houseofplain · 09/09/2012 16:40

Frankie Boyle. I used to think he was quite funny. A bit risky. But he was heavily censored on the bbc.

The guy is a complete prick. Nothing cool, edgy or funny about him. He is an absolute tosser. Who will, with any luck, drink himself into oblivion.

thunderbird5 · 09/09/2012 16:40

i said on another thread about channel 4 showing the paralympics...same channel that allows frankie boyle to get away with what he does. double standards there. thing is there are ignorants out there who think he and others are hilarious. If he was making racisct remarks hed be in huge doo doo but hey, looky here. and the news is saying that the paralympics are going to change peoples perception of disabilitys. hope so, but not whele there are people like him quick to throw faeceas on the pile.

thunderbird5 · 09/09/2012 16:42

someone should sit him down and educate him. maybe he'd realise then. there are plenty of progs on tv about disabilities , on channel 4 too!!

SauvignonBlanche · 09/09/2012 16:47

C4 aren't working with him anymore, this is old news.
His alcoholism means I feel anger at his disabalism but pity for him and his young son.

MadameCupcake · 09/09/2012 17:14

Some of the stuff he does is funny, some of it isn't - if its not funny I turn off. I don't find comedians offensive as I don't actually have to watch them or read about them - its your own choice.

I find it quite frustrating when people moan about stuff comedians say, in particular on their tv shows as usually they are on late at night and there are 400 other channels to watch.

If people don't like things he says why do they follow him on twitter or watch his shows as that is the only place as far as I know he has been making comments.

Pagwatch · 09/09/2012 18:00

I think that argument is a bit thin tbh.

Unless you think there should be late night programme for comedians who want to make racist jokes - because of course people could chose not to tune in.

And I watch tv at night. I am allowed to do that. How am I to know in advance that a oneian is going to do a joke which passes challenging and boundary pushing and drifts into crass and fucking unpleasant until I see/hear it?

And of course his hilarious witticism about Harvey Price was on the news.

As I said before, I don't care that he is on telly. I just think he's a nasty cunt. As of ourselves I am entitled to do. That doesn't make me professionally offended. It just makes me a viewer.

MAYBELATERNOWIMBUSY · 09/09/2012 18:03

me? total 100%cunt , fb is side splitting tear streaming down face funny,, in my opinion

You havent really grasped the point of this thread MAYBELATER?

I don't know whether she has or not, Jeux- because I don't understand her post!

ouryve · 09/09/2012 19:37

Seeker. I think enough information can be gleaned about this poster without reading any actual words. (I think there's some words there, but none of them seem to make any sense, no matter what order I arrange them in)

Pagwatch · 09/09/2012 19:43

Wtf.
Does anyone have an English/idiot dictionary on them?
