I just noticed on the other thread there was a reference to a pump - AIBU or is this a horrible word?

They are farts in this house but I tell DD and DS1 to not do them in public or talk about them. DD's nursery call them trumps and I wish they wouldn't as she laughs like a loon at Nellie the Elephant now ...

yanbu, farts. As a kid I blew off, exh used to pop off, HTH.

Farts. That's what they are. I hate 'pumped', 'trumped' and twee words!

Farts, but we also speak Dutch at home so they are often called "scheetjes" (normal Dutch word for them). Or a "windje" (little wind )

Depends on what kind it is. We're a bilingual household so go with the Danish. Prut (proot) if it's a proper big one or fis (Feess) if it's one of those that slowly escapes from between your cheeks.
