I just noticed on the other thread there was a reference to a pump - AIBU or is this a horrible word? Grin

They are farts in this house but I tell DD and DS1 to not do them in public or talk about them. DD's nursery call them trumps and I wish they wouldn't as she laughs like a loon at Nellie the Elephant now ...

GWenlockMaryLacey · 02/09/2012 11:57

Poo poo smells and poo poo noises. DD1's terminology not mine :)

spidermanspiderman · 02/09/2012 12:24

We call them whizzpops, same as in the bfg.

TheApprentice · 02/09/2012 12:25

windypops here

whiskyfudge · 02/09/2012 12:26

Who's chuffed?

Dawndonna · 02/09/2012 12:29

Farts. That's what they are. I hate 'pumped', 'trumped' and twee words!

ZacharyQuack · 02/09/2012 12:32

We like to call a fart a fart.

peeriebear · 02/09/2012 12:32

Farts here too.

MyLastDuchess · 02/09/2012 13:11

Farts, but we also speak Dutch at home so they are often called "scheetjes" (normal Dutch word for them). Or a "windje" (little wind Grin)

DoMeDon · 02/09/2012 13:16

Pop pop bums, pops - DD
Farts everyone else.
"oh my god my eyes, what is that smell, someone help me please, I think I'm going to be sick" when DH farts!

redexpat · 02/09/2012 13:18

Depends on what kind it is. We're a bilingual household so go with the Danish. Prut (proot) if it's a proper big one or fis (Feess) if it's one of those that slowly escapes from between your cheeks.

40notTrendy · 02/09/2012 13:18

Trump, Pump and Fart. Depending on who, where and when!

musicposy · 02/09/2012 13:19

My parents always said "blew off" or "broke wind". My mother was shocked when I first used the word fart as a teenager!
My children call a fart a fart and the oldies have had to get used to it Grin

helenthemadex · 02/09/2012 13:19

my dd's call them botty pops Grin

PuppyMonkey · 02/09/2012 13:19

Usually it's a trump.

When I was little, it was known as a blurt.

Nottingham.

Moominsarescary · 02/09/2012 13:20

Trumps here

Moominsarescary · 02/09/2012 13:21

Also in nottingham

musicposy · 02/09/2012 13:21

Loving the Danish words, redexpat. So much more onomatopoeiaic than the English!

ponytails · 02/09/2012 13:21

my DS calls them poots
