To ask if you have sex when on a period

My dh will not have sex with me when i am on a period, I respect that it make him feel grossed out, but I am on for 5-7 days which is IMO a long time with out sex :(

Coconutty wow just found my limit, could never ever let bf take my tampon out they look absolutely vile when used. Guess I'm not as broad minded as I thought I was!

I / we have a couple of times but as a general rule we don't just because I'm usually in so much pain that sex is the last thing on my mind.

When I was younger I had sex at the end of my period a couple of times but ended up with cystitis.

How come the rest of you don't get infections whilst having sex during your period?

I can't believe only one other person has mentioned the shower!!

My XP referred to it as "blood sport" but the only way in this house is in the shower!

when you have oral on a period you either leave tampon in,cut the string short,or whip out before (in the loo not as foreplay)

i think people expect it to resemble a slaughter house floor,well not in my case

I only get cystitis if I don't have a wee straight after period or not MaeMobley or if I eat to many oranges for some strange reason.

Mae I'm not sure why that would cause cystitis. As you have said it does for you I'm just but sure why, it doesn't for me. The blood doesn't have anything infectious in it.

Has anyone ever lost the string and had to get their DH to remove the tampon for them?

I put one in upside down one night when I was drunk and DH had to go all gynaecologist on me the next day to fish it out

You are more likely to get thrush as the vagina's pH during menstruation is less acidic.

there is no reason why you would be more likely to get cystitis if you have sex while on a period

there is more chance you will get thrush though, for me it would be because of too much (unhelpful) friction

I have worra and after I thought you silly cow inneedof you could of just had a bath and the water would of dragged it out.

Inneedof that wouldn't have worked for me or I'd never go swimming again

cystitis is a bacterial infection for the ph thing still applies

I never thought about swimming worra but whenever ive forgot and got in the bath when I stand up TMI warning it plops out (facepalm) but never swimming though. My minge does suck up water though so could just be mine hehe.
