My dh will not have sex with me when i am on a period, I respect that it make him feel grossed out, but I am on for 5-7 days which is IMO a long time with out sex :(

Aibu to think a grown man should not be freaked out by a bit of blood

Op here.

It really not that big of a deal and as a grown women I can control my urges :) Was just after other people views.

Can't help my sex drive I suppose, luckily any other time my husband has a similar sex drive

Minipie in the way of what? I've always had oral on my clit and the string is in my vagina. They are quite apart from each other. Am i oddly made?

doublevodkaandcoke · 14/08/2012 17:32

Yes but Spuddy the string isnt actually in your vagina is it, I thought that was the whole point of having a string.............never mind!

5madthings · 14/08/2012 17:33

lol worra and yes just tuck the string away but what spuddy said.

snuffaluffagus · 14/08/2012 17:35

Towards the end.. maybe, but for the first three days (I have 5 day periods), no way.. I have a really heavy flow so it would look like I've murdered a cat or something.. and oral? No way.

Pumpster · 14/08/2012 17:36

I never used to mind it but this thread has put me off!

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 14/08/2012 17:38

would'nt bother me too much if it was'nt,too heavy. oral no I wouldnt be comfortable cos I always feel a bit smelly. BUT a GMU nurse told me that non specific urethritis can be contracted by doing it whilst on a period so I would use a condom.

Spuddybean · 14/08/2012 17:43

Yes but double if you are laying down, and the string is clean, it just dangles down your bum crack doesn't it? Or is just the sight of string too awful?

Krumbum · 14/08/2012 17:47

Spuddybean, it's a while back in the thread now but sexual arousal fluids are not produced inside the vagina, they are produced by two glands either side of the opening. So a tampon would not soak them away. So you still stay wet if you do have sex!

milkymocha · 14/08/2012 17:50

I honestly genuinely thought that all women refrained from sex during their period Blush

I have led a very sheltered life!

Spuddybean · 14/08/2012 17:53

Really Krum why am i so dry then when i take the tampon out regardless of how aroused i am? oh god, I AM oddly made! :(

5madthings · 14/08/2012 17:54

talking of dinner we are having chipolata sausages in a tomato sauce with pasta....hmmm not feeling quite so hungry now!

Krumbum · 14/08/2012 17:55

I dunno! Maybe you weren't that wet anyway? Lol. I think depending on where you are hormonal you can produce more or less when aroused.

AnyFucker · 14/08/2012 17:58

I find blood, like water, is a terrible lubricant

Penetrative sex under water is a no-no for me too

Dorisday13 · 14/08/2012 18:02

We do it in the shower ;-)

minipie · 14/08/2012 18:28

Spuddy you're right, the string wouldn't actually be in the way. I guess I just presumed it would be too much of a distraction.

cleo78 · 14/08/2012 18:50

OMG....we dont have sex during my period but as my husband is Muslim, I thought I would just google it to see what the deal is in Islam as I know he isnt keen at all (my neither tbh). I was shocked when I ended up on a q and a page with someone giving muslims advice about sex. It is no wonder that Islam can get such a bad rep- but then I'm sure similar sites exist for all religions probably!
One of the LESS worrying things is that most of the men on that site referred to a woman as having to carry a baby in her ovary!?!? One man referred to contraception as something which was going to cause cancer?? I find it some worrying in this day and age that people have no clue about what seems to be basic!?

anditwasallyellow · 14/08/2012 19:07

Haha I love this thread it's such an eye opener I'm with Krumbum blood from a cut is much worse because it means someones hurt.

I'm also wondering where on their partners body al of these menfolk are performing oral that they are going to get a face full of blood or be put off by a tampon string.

GhostShip · 14/08/2012 19:09

5-7 days is a long time for us.

And oral sex when on is possible without being yucky! Just leave the tampon in! It's the clit that's concentrated on most anyway so... It should be completely clean!

CrystalQueen · 14/08/2012 19:34

Apparently I have the only husband who likes it. He has a thing about the world of gynecology and tbh it freaks me out

mummakaz · 14/08/2012 20:02

My DH doesn't care if I'm on when it comes to sex and neither do I. I would draw a line at him giving me oral though Grin

It's not for us but I wouldn't judge anyone who does. I have heavy periods, I feel rough with them - bad pain, bloating, nausea and so sex is usually the last thing on my mind. DH prefers not to as well. But to be fair the worst is usually over within three days and we have done it on day 3.
