I think it's an unwelcome normalisation of an offensive term. Don't like it at all.

Maybe so cheeky but a choice only chosen by working class kids. WHY??? Because they mistakenly think that this is a way of having some pride in their position. A way of showing the world that they don't give a toss. When in fact the opposite is true...for a time at least. Until they grow and become the victim of their own mistaken pride.

According to that board game all chavs live on estates, so don't spout your lifestyle choice bollocks.

Chav/Chavi are Romany gypsy travellers (children) with Irish Gypsy travellers being Pavee though more commonly referred to as Pikeys in both cases, all these terms tend to be used in a derogatory manner to insult people of low income/poor social background/poor education regardless if they were at fault or not. All these terms are highly offensive imo.

The underclass was created by Margaret Thatcher. When she shut so many of our industries down and left a desolate wreck behind her.

The children of those men in the 70s who lost their jobs are now the parents and grandparents of kids who have grown up in small communities where they see nobody working. It's normal for them.

Maybe the reason I don't see it as an offensive term is partly to do with teh fact that the people that I (kinda) know that identify with the term wear the term like a label. They don't see it as an insult.
