I know I probably am being unreasonable but need a rant against bloody smokers again!

We were having a family day out today at a little theme park and I was so annoyed by the amount of parents smoking. OK I know it's outside and all that but things like when my DC were on this little carousel thing 2 parents were hanging over the fence smoking so I could really smell it.

Then that thing parents do where they blow smoke and keep their fag away from their DC by blowing it over your DC, this was in a queue for the mini dodgems. Then we sat down to eat and someone sat next to us smoking. All you could smell today was smoke.

If you must smoke then bugger off to some remote corner and do it, public places like playgrounds should be no smoking anyway.

I had to pull my DC out the queue as they were coughing having had smoke blown over them nevermind worrying about them getting burnt by a fag held at toddler level.

You're goong to get flamed for this but I'm with you on it, it pisses me off no end BUT I do feel for some smokers who have tried and failed at quitting.

Seriously, I have no idea how old you are but you would never have survived years ago....when everyone smoked everywhere.

Yes I'm glad those days are well and truly gone, but for the love of God what will people have to moan about when it's stamped out completely??

A few years ago, a parent complained to my employer about me smoking in my own garden. On a Saturday. She was alone, but her child could potentially have seen me. And presumably been scarred for life or something.

YANBU. I had a thread about this a few days ago, and if fucking pissed me off. Today YET AGAIN there was another woman smoking inside the play area.

I smoke when I've had a few glasses of wine. I like it. I would never ever smoke around DCs, other people's DCs, people eating etc and it riles me when people do. Totally hypocritical but can't help it!

I grew up with 2 chain smoking parents, think at least 60 fags a day between them if not more. My Dad would finish one and light up another straight away, how he is still living I do not know.

We had bugger all money sometimes going hungry and having holes in our shoes but there was always money for fags. I remember getting sent to the shop bring told to pick the cheapest bit of cheese and the value bread but 40 fags.

Oh I had childhood asthma and loads of chest infections too so I'm really glad those days are over. But it's minging smelling smoke to the point it makes you cough and I would say the same for smelling someone's BO.

I suppose I can sort of see the point.. and I am a smoker. In America, all the theme parks have specific smoking areas, which is fair enough. I wouldnt smoke while I was in the queue, even if there were only adults there.

Admittedly it doesn't look great smoking near kids, but seriously, it's the outdoors!

Do you also pull your kids in off the street when a car passes them belching exhaust fumes?

In some attractions we've been to in Dubai etc they have smoking areas outside which makes total sense.

I don't think yabu to find some smokers inconsiderate but to "my DC out the queue as they were coughing having had smoke blown over them" is a bit precious tbh, unless your DC have asthma or something similar, it's a bit "cutting your DCs nose off to spite your face really. Why not just ask the smoker to stub it out?

My mum's breakfast when I was growing up was 2 fags and a cup of tar-like coffee you could have stood the spoon up in. She stank.

Do what you want in private. But for fucks sake don't expect me not to complain when you blow your rancid poisonous smoke in the direction of me or my child.

If it's considered so anti-social and enough of a health risk to be banned in pubs and offices, then I really don't see how it is still permissible in our children's playgrounds. YANBU

Oh why is it when anyone mentions smoking someone has to go on about exhaust fumes?

I'm not saying don't smoke that's your choice but just dont smoke around me or my children to the point they are coughing or nearly getting burnt.

Do people think it seriously ok to hang over the fence of a carousel full of DC and blow smoke on them, there's a roof on it, it's kind of enclosed.
