I know I probably am being unreasonable but need a rant against bloody smokers again!

We were having a family day out today at a little theme park and I was so annoyed by the amount of parents smoking. OK I know it's outside and all that but things like when my DC were on this little carousel thing 2 parents were hanging over the fence smoking so I could really smell it.

Then that thing parents do where they blow smoke and keep their fag away from their DC by blowing it over your DC, this was in a queue for the mini dodgems. Then we sat down to eat and someone sat next to us smoking. All you could smell today was smoke.

If you must smoke then bugger off to some remote corner and do it, public places like playgrounds should be no smoking anyway.

I had to pull my DC out the queue as they were coughing having had smoke blown over them nevermind worrying about them getting burnt by a fag held at toddler level.

Too darn right... And if you got a problem with eatin while your smokin, the secret is to take the burger out of your mouth first

Most smokers don,t care about whether your child inhales their smoke since they don,t care enough about their own lungs to stop.
Totally selfish pains in the ass. Sorry but smokers are so self centered when the dangers are so clearly documented.

YANBU - I completely agree with you. I would like to take the approach of some places in California and ban smoking in some public outdoor spaces. I also think people should at least try and avoid smoking around children.

This has probably been said but I hate it when you walk past someone and they blow out smoke from their mouth or worse nose and you inadvertantly breathe it in - disgusting!

Yanbu.smoking is a disgusting habit, I'm shocked that any parent would smoke, we all know the damage it does.

i have just started watching Mad Men love the smoking on it almost tempted to take it up myself and have never smoked (well i did for a few months years ago)

do you walk along a road with heavy traffic, your children are breathing in far more dangerous fumes then and this could too be avoided but we choose to ignore this fact when it suits us

it s joke in california, not many people smoke yet LA has a huge problem with car fumes everyday you see a yellow cloud over the city but a few people smoking apparently is damaging everyones health

If you can't stand traffic fumes (which are disgusting I agree) then it makes even less sense to smoke. Why Add to the pollution with your own cocktail of toxic fumes?

the point i am making is that we ignore the isses around pollution because we like to use our cars (and most of us use them more than we need too)

The worse place I saw a woman smoke was right outside the maternity scanning department in the women's centre. I'd just had a scan and came out to a wonderful puff of smoke from a pregnant woman. The bitch.

Disagree Freudian- I think a lot of people are generally very environmentally aware and take active steps to try to reduce their carbon footprint . Clearly not smokers though .

YANBU as smoking in a kids' queue is not very civilised, but YABU for starting a thread about smokers.
For the love of God, enough already! Stop with the whining and the false concern for the kids!
Less and less people smoke, so everybody can unclench now. Relax!
