I know I probably am being unreasonable but need a rant against bloody smokers again!

We were having a family day out today at a little theme park and I was so annoyed by the amount of parents smoking. OK I know it's outside and all that but things like when my DC were on this little carousel thing 2 parents were hanging over the fence smoking so I could really smell it.

Then that thing parents do where they blow smoke and keep their fag away from their DC by blowing it over your DC, this was in a queue for the mini dodgems. Then we sat down to eat and someone sat next to us smoking. All you could smell today was smoke.

If you must smoke then bugger off to some remote corner and do it, public places like playgrounds should be no smoking anyway.

I had to pull my DC out the queue as they were coughing having had smoke blown over them nevermind worrying about them getting burnt by a fag held at toddler level.

Because they're just two different kinds of airborne pollutant, so I was just drawing a comparison.

There is a petition online you can sign to ask for a ban of smoking in playgrounds in parliament.. Just google it.

There really is no need for people to blow smoke around DCs. If they want to smoke go further away and do it.

I don't understand how anyone can justify this behaviour with the excuse "it used to be worse".

Oh why is it when anyone mentions smoking someone has to go on about exhaust fumes?

It's nasty. I really hate the smell of smoke. It's so anti social.
Hopefully the younger generation wont take up smoking like ours did

Yanbu was some scruffy fuckers in picnic area today puffing away over their toddlers in strollers standing and no one could use the two large picnic tables they stood between

There's this one bloody woman docks her breakfast fag & gets on my bus every sodding morning. I don't know if she's some sort of human hyper-conductor for fagstink but it makes me want to puke tbh. Even when she's sat half a buslength away.

However, in reality, she is probably lovely & has no idea how horrible she smells, so clearly IABU on that one before anyone else tells me not to be such a delicate little flower...

Smoking around children's attractions & the queues thereof as in OP is clearly minging & selfish though, surely?

Those of you claiming car exhaust fumes are worse than cigarette smoke please read the above article I posted.

Jesus you'd never survive a bus journey here in East London...just for the smell of stale garlic and spicy foods being sweated out in the heat.

Lemarchands, I don't ever burp. Ever. Especially around children.

They should ask everyone in the queue to hand in a list of behaviour they don't want to see in the queue they are in. Or, to make it more manageable everyone should have to wear a t-shirt listing unacceptable behaviour. Everyone would know where they are then.
In Denmark the theme parks have smoking and non smoking rides. I kid you not.

No we're suggesting you don't smoke near any children, including your own.

IME any socio economic group can be scruffy.

I could tell you some classics that happened to me and I observed when on day out today, 1000's of posts were swimming about my head from this place as I trudged through the day.

Smug parenting with person I was with.
Nappy changing on knee in public
Smoking in picnic area.
DS not listening and fecking off.
Getting lost and crying cos I'm hormonal
Loud parenting
Smacking
Middle classishness brands name dropped in convos.
There was naice ham.
There was haribos.
Rain/sun and all the fecking clothing for everything
Games machine to keep one of them quiet at least.
But we ate our veg and fruit
Bribery to do times tables.

So the smoking was in fact a small part of a very annoying day out fro start to finish. I've been waiting since three o'clock to get all that down.
