Not been here too long, but it seems that almost everyone here is a perfect parent who look down on the mere mortals who come on here for help and support - maybe i have just been unlucky in the threads I have picked to look at or comment on, but surely not everyone here has an ass so tight it squeaks when they walk??!!

good lord, no. I am most prob the world worst pair of ant. HTH.

I lie in bed when I should be up with the DC, I drink lots of wine, I feed them spagetti hoops, I shout at them and smack them on occasion, I 'swear' - DS2 knows the word knackered - he is 2, I am late for school most days, I work FT, I send them in when they are sick, I BF for 4 weeks only, I was induced, I had 2 MMC.

I AM THE WORLD'S WORST PARENT Grin

AlbertoFrog · 22/07/2012 22:41

SDT you either love it or hate it. It's cheap, runny and vinegary. I must confess to occasionally (very occasionally) having salt, vinegar and sauce Blush

Put it on your bucket list.

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 22:44

lol Funny - it's good to be honest, i am sure you are not alone :)

grove chippy finnieston does mean white puddin supper
nice wi curry sauce
and an onion

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 22:50

i like a really mealy crumbly white pudding - some of them are a bit stodgy - had one in Inverness that was like chewing toffee, it kept clagging to the inside of your mouth :(

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/07/2012 22:55

Nooooo Funnys - I am far worse than you, because I bought spaghetti hoops last week - just one can, that I have NO intention of sharing with the dses. Oh, and when ds1 was going through the terrible twos, and was having a huge tantrum, and only stopped because he flung the tortilla chips that dh and I had thrown in the kitchen bin and started eating them - I let him carry on eating the, because i couldn't face him screaming if I took them away from him! Blush

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 22:58

is this going to turn into true confessions now? lol

TapirBackRider · 22/07/2012 23:00

Anstruther - still the best chippy by far!

IllegitimateGruffaloChild · 22/07/2012 23:00

And I bet they're open 'til all hours Envy

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 23:02

neither of which is in a reasonable travelling distance for me unfortunately - I'm sure I've been in Pisces, is that the one at the top of leith?? mind you, most of the time if i was buying a chippy in town, I was probably in no fit state to comment on the culinary brilliance of anything i was eating...

You've all got a long way to catch up in the worst parenting stakes.

I have teens; the strops and tantrums are terrible to behold.

I have bought (in the last 2 days) Pot Noodles, fizzy juice, and hotdogs - all with the intention of using them as bargaining tools in the war with my teens!

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 23:03

IllegitimateGruffaloChild - i have gone for an Italian meal in leith at 3 in the morning - and picked up rolls fresh from the baker on the way home :)

Not relevant to the way this thread is now going but I've wanted to say this for years as I know it to be the one and only truth.

I am perfect.

FunnysInLaJardin · 22/07/2012 23:13

in my favour, the DS's have never had coke, Mc D's or any 'fast' food. That about it really.

They have computer games, Wii, DS, telly on tap, cake when they like. They don't have to eat their dinner to have their pudding, they watch the computer while eating.

But DS1 says he has never heard me shout (I do) or be cross (I sometimes am) and doesn't understand how it feels to be angry. So something is OK along the way. He will also never have heard me and DH argue, because we don't.

TapirBackRider · 22/07/2012 23:13

Don't bother with Fife at the moment; it's rained even when the forecasters have assured us it won't.

Apparently Wednesday/Thursday are supposed to be dry...Hmm

Last Thursday was when I can remember seeing the sun, and that was on a day trip to York!

IllegitimateGruffaloChild · 22/07/2012 23:16

Bloody Hell Fire. Not only am I a shit parent, but I'm doing it against all odds in some rural backwater where everything shuts at 6pm

I never stood a chance.

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 23:20

are you Heleninahandcart? Do you shop in waitrose too?

Funny, well mine have had coke but only when we are out, they have had McD's in fact, according to my son whenn he was in P2, he had it every weekend!! every Monday they had to write what the did at the weekend. My son is bright, but a bit lazy, he wrote, "we went to McDonalds, i had a burger, it was good, i felt happy" and he got a star for that. Anyway he clocks the star so trots out the same story every week - unbeknown to me until I get the jotter sent home at the end of the year. Meanwhile, we have been taking the wee begger to the cinema, circus, swimming, soft play, partys etc. every bleedin weekend!

.....but we do have a limit on screen time and i do shout - well, nobody listens until i do!!

Overall, i guess most of us are doing a pretty reasonable job. Perfect or not.

Aww my neighbours are away to Fife on their holidays - we had a not raining day yesterday - not exactly sunny, but at least it wasn't wet. My kids were at silversands last Monday and were swimming in the baltic sea!!

OP posts:
amck5700 · 22/07/2012 23:23

...well not the ACTUAL baltic sea, but you get what I mean :)

Me OP?

Nope, I've been a Tapir for over a year now, name changed only for the above ^^ reasons, but thoroughly prefer the Tapir's twinkly ways Wink

I tend to make up my parenting as I go along - I didn't have a parental blueprint to follow, so I've made my own, and I reckon that we all do what we need to do, to get through the day.

Now I want chips....

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 23:28
