Not been here too long, but it seems that almost everyone here is a perfect parent who look down on the mere mortals who come on here for help and support - maybe i have just been unlucky in the threads I have picked to look at or comment on, but surely not everyone here has an ass so tight it squeaks when they walk??!!

b% that are Shock about the abundance of Tesco availability North of the border!

look at our opening times FFS

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 21:51

how does that work pag if people just bitch and then change their name?

Actually wish i'd chosen something a bit more interesting to be honest, but out of principle i wont change it now.

Slow and deprived dahn sarf

IllegitimateGruffaloChild · 22/07/2012 21:52

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 21:53

sorry yeah - there are other 24 hour supermarkets on a sunday here - that just happens to be one of them.

OP posts:
K999 · 22/07/2012 21:53

Fuck. Is it time for a large Wine yet?

All this perfection makes a gal thirsty.....Grin

IllegitimateGruffaloChild · 22/07/2012 21:54

Well I would but our Tesco shut ages ago ao we're stuck with tapwater. And Gruel.

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 21:54

we have pubs that are open for 23 hours if that is any use? they shut for an hour to clean.

Pagwatch · 22/07/2012 21:55

It isn't the initial vibe of the place unless you take a few threads - usually in aibu - and form a view based on that.

I think when I first arrived I took a good look around at lots of threads before I formed a view.
If you go on aibu and decide that represents mn it is the same as watching endless reruns of Jeremy Kyle and deciding that tv is thick and hostile.

And tbh, if I turn up anywhere - a pub, a club, a party - and think it is awful I leave. I don't stand in the middle of the room telling everyone they are dull and badly dressed.

Lecturing others when you know nothing about 95% of the site is bad manners.

TapirBackRider · 22/07/2012 21:55

Ach just the usual, bars, gyms, all the supermarkets....we're spoiled! Wink

pictish · 22/07/2012 21:56

OP - yanbu.

A lot of posters on here do have a stick up their arse, and when they became parents, they handed their sense of humours in for retirement when they left the labour ward. If you are less than totally selfless, and do become a slave to all things chaste and pious, then you might well be flamed. I've never come across so much marching-in-form-along-the-straight-and-narrow in my life!!

However, it must be said that not everyone here is like that. Some of us a lot more laid back.

It takes all sorts, and you may disregard the opinions of whoever you like. Don't let it bother you.

aquashiv · 22/07/2012 21:57

Who is the 'almost everyone' of whom you speak? Most posts I find/look at are from people so far from perfect and not ashamed to to admit it.

Pagwatch · 22/07/2012 21:58

Massive x-post.

But they don't. I have been here 8 years and never changed my name.

You need to stop thinking about mn as some big group you are looking at from the outside. You are as much a member as I am. If mn is filled with rude fuckers then that is you as much as me.

TapirBackRider · 22/07/2012 21:58

Grin at Gruffalo

Nowt like getting blootered at sparrow fart and hitting the shops!

LineRunner · 22/07/2012 21:58

Yes a large Wine is at me.

The best bits on MN are often on threads in faraway places where people tell you how to fix your boiler or handle a difficult transaction. And there's always mental stuff on Chat about eels.

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 21:59

pag, have you been in baby names??!! Shock

but then it is clearly not just me if there are one of these types of posts regularly Hmm

OP posts:
TapirBackRider · 22/07/2012 22:01

I've namechanged once - because I needed relationship advice about dh and I. Nothing to do with bitchiness or bunfighting.

If I ever need more advice about dh, or my dcs, or the cowbag that raised me, then I'll namechange back to it. Otherwise, no.

Pagwatch · 22/07/2012 22:01

Noooooo
Don't go in baby names

Grin
amck5700 · 22/07/2012 22:03

lol - it's too late.......this place is kinda weird but I'll stick around for a bit and see what happens.

OP posts:
Pagwatch · 22/07/2012 22:04

It isn't just you.
But honestly? It remains rude uninformed and hectoring.

Just because lots of you feel it is fine to criticise a site having just turned up doesn't mean it is a valid opinion.
It just means you are prepared to make a snap judgement and be rude about it.

That isn't a good thing. IMO.

K999 · 22/07/2012 22:05

I ROFL in baby name threads....I have posted my all too honest opinion (but in my defence always perfect) too many times! Some of the names are truly hideous....Grin

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 22:06

pag - you are becoming like a dog with a bone - i apologised about 2 pages ago.

OP posts:
AlbertoFrog · 22/07/2012 22:06

This is a great thread.

Not only have I discovered I'm perfect...

I also have two 24 hour supermarkets within a few miles of me.

p.s. When I first joined MN I thought it was lovely and kind and supportive.

Took me a while to discover AIBU Grin

Pagwatch · 22/07/2012 22:08
Confused

I am not a dog with a bone.
I thought this was an evolving conversation.

I shall go then.
