.to wonder if the vast majority of parents on this web site are perfect?

Not been here too long, but it seems that almost everyone here is a perfect parent who look down on the mere mortals who come on here for help and support - maybe i have just been unlucky in the threads I have picked to look at or comment on, but surely not everyone here has an ass so tight it squeaks when they walk??!!

lol Alberto - i select case sample to be audited from time to time - I seem to have some kind of radar for picking the worst examples of anything, guaranteed if there is muck to be found, i'll pick it from a random sample!

Alberto West or East?

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 22:11

dont go, it just seemed to be evolving into something much nicer and funnier than it started and I really didn't want to go raking over old ground - you and some others have said that there is much more to MN that I have seen so far so I think i'd like to stay a while and boggle about and try to not get offended when people are rude to other people

ok :)

I've admitted to being less than perfect & asked for help many times on here & have yet to see any vultures descend.

With an Internet forum you have to expect people will disagree with you, & the anonymity perhaps allows people to say things that are harsher than they would say in real life.

AlbertoFrog · 22/07/2012 22:15

Tapir West. Salt & Vinegar all the way Wink

TapirBackRider · 22/07/2012 22:16

Exactly HelsBels - keyboard warriors! There are a few, but they are generally easy to spot.

OP - I would also point out that it is the holidays, MN tends to attract some rather less salubrious posters and even more so when it is a full moon (which is why there is a moon watch icon at the top of the page), and most MNers will defend the ethos of MN.

TapirBackRider · 22/07/2012 22:17

Alberto I'm East, but still salt & vinegar...anything else is uncivilised, surely?

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 22:21

Nooooo - it has to be salt and sauce - i don't have access to decent sauce anymore - it's like some legend that i tell my kids about....

OP posts:
amck5700 · 22/07/2012 22:22

oh - well it's been holidays here for 4 weeks but makes no odds to me as I am working anyway.

AlbertoFrog · 22/07/2012 22:23

Ooooh Tapir I totally agree but didn't think you were allowed to admit that on the East Coast. The look I got when I asked for S&V in Edinburgh last year!

OP wee bit of advice - keep well away from any benefit threads.

TapirBackRider · 22/07/2012 22:27

Oh god yes, benefit threads, bf v ff, to name but a couple. Always end up in bunfights and deletions.

Do you mean chippy sauce OP?

K999 · 22/07/2012 22:28

Salt 'n' sauce every time....and a pickled onion ....washed down with a can of Irn Bru....

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 22:28

of course chippy sauce :) and i'll maybe stay away from that area then too

OP posts:
amck5700 · 22/07/2012 22:29

....leave out the irn bru and you've got a deal - also can't get a decent white pudding anywhere outside of Edinburgh either :(

OP posts:
tittytittyhanghang · 22/07/2012 22:31

my arse squeaks but fuck all to do with being perfect Grin

op there are some holier than thous on this site, who come across direct rude and mean

but i tend to ignore them when i disagree with what they are saying as they are clearly wrong

K999 · 22/07/2012 22:32

No, white puddings seem to be an Edinburgh thing.....they are so yummy! I love a black pudding or haggis supper. Grin

AlbertoFrog · 22/07/2012 22:32

OMG I'm salivating.

tittytittyhanghang · 22/07/2012 22:32

also can't get a decent white pudding anywhere outside of Edinburgh either

tis lies.

TapirBackRider · 22/07/2012 22:33

Cannae beat a bottle o' ginger! Salt & sauce however

Give it some time, have a good lurk about; it helps with getting the general feel of the place.

MN is like a massive gossip over the kitchen fence - it attracts all sorts, with diverse opinions, and the trick is to take what you need from it, and if you can give something back, it makes MN all the better for it.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/07/2012 22:35

I have never had chippy sauce - will my life ever be whole? >

TapirBackRider · 22/07/2012 22:35

Charles McLeod has a fab online site for black, white and haggis.

amck5700 · 22/07/2012 22:38

oh ta tapir - i'll google that later - and SDT - no, never, but it has to be Edinburgh - our local chippy does sauce but it is thick and gloopy - I have to get it with no sauce and put HP on at home, but it is just not the same :(

OP posts:
amck5700 · 22/07/2012 22:39

...and tapir that why I started here - i was googling something and a link came up on here from someone looking for some info so I joined so I could help :)

OP posts:
TapirBackRider · 22/07/2012 22:39

That's why I'm at chippy sauce etc, I'm allergic to one of the ingredients and I do actually

larks35 · 22/07/2012 22:40

Surely the whole point of AIBU is to gather a range of opinions from a range of people. I've posted a few genuine AIBU threads and have actually acted upon the overall feedback once. I've also posted some threads that have really been about getting advice and have received it.

I read a lot more than I post and think it is really easy to overlook the kinder posts when there are people being less than kind in their answers.

The fact is we're a bunch of people from all walks of life who enjoy expressing ourselves. Some of us are perfectly judgey, some of us are perfectly ambivelent, some of us perfectly decadent and some of us perfectly evil. Who cares really. I just find this the most interesting forum to read.
