I rang a holiday park to enquire about accomodation today. It's a place where you camp or hire a "Luxury holiday home"...it had very good reviews from my sister...indoor pool, ovely countryside etc. I looked on the site to see the tarriffs and there were none....odd I thought...maybe they'rea bit old fahioned or are doing up the site...so I phoned them up.

The woman who answered my call ran through the types of accomodation at lightening speed and I said "Sorry...could you repeat that please as I didn't quite catch it.."

She sighed and said "we no longer hire the holiday homes, it's just camping now unless you have bought one of our statics"

Oh I said...what are the prices for camping please?

She sihed again and sad "It VARIES according to the amount of people and the ages of children"

So I said "Is there a list on the site anywhere."

"Yes."

"Oh I can't see it anywhere." (very conversational and normal tone)

Well it IS THERE!

So I lost my patience then and said "Well I tell you what, I'll just book somewhere else because your phone manner is shocking..goodbye."

ALL said in a polite tone.

I put the phone down and SHE RANG ME BACK rght away and said " just wanted to tel you that it is very rude to put the phone down...

And I said "How dare you call me back to harrass me! Don't call me again I am going to email and complain.

WIBU then? Honestly? my tone all the way through wasconversational and normal...I was polite but could not see the prices anywhere! I have wrtten an email suggesting they retrain their staff.

What power does an email have? Sorry it just sounds so funny, you threatening to email when in all likelyhood it'll be her that reads it and deletes it.

Well I know paradise! I did think that but there's also a chance someone in authority will red it and tell her....I've done them a favour really...I wont review it badly on trip advisor as according to my sister it is lovely....so wouldn't be on to give a false impression...it's just that woman who waas rude!

People can encounter the rudeness for themselves I think...and make their own choices.

I would have a look at putting something on trip-advisor. You could review it as per your sisiter's visit but mention the rotton telephone manner of one of the receptionists at booking.

And email. Someone above her might read it.

but her rudeness has stopped you from staying there, so you can't comment on the site itself.
Just leave a comment about their dreadful customer service and how you didn't book because the lady on the phone was rude and harrassed you by ringing you back.

Call me paranoid but my phone just rang... picked up and it was open if you know what I mean....like someone was there for second...then it went beep bee and now I can't use the frigging phone..I bet she''s called me back nd put me on hold r something! Could she have and if she's done it somehow that I can't get the number, is there anyway Ican find out?

Yes, if you call someone and they end the call and you don't, their phone can't be used. Bloody annoying and could be used as a harrassment tactic. Make sure you 1471 it, or maybe call BT and ask them to check if there is a problem, they might give you the number of the caller then.

It WAS them! It just came back on and I called 1471 and it was the holiday camp number! She tied my line up for ten minutes on purpose by the look of things. What shall I do? If I complain again I wil look paranoid!

If they have rung you back and put you on hold, just leave it for now, it will be costing them!

Is it a BT landline?? You can contact them and they can do whatever they do to disconnect it.

How big is it? Do they have a facebook page you can go and kick off on?

take your phone off the hook and just use your mobile for a couple of hours til she gets bored or finds someone else to harass

Have you a mobile you could ring them on (so she doesn't recognise your no.) and ask to speak to a manager?

My phone is back on now...it was ages ago that we had the convo..so she must have been stewing all day! She must be a bit uninged to call me back!I dont want to name them in case she comes on here or somthing!
