to think our neighbour is spying on me through a wall?

We live in a semi but a semi that backs onto another house, so our entire back wall is another house's entire back wall IYSWIM. So upstairs we share a wall on our bedroom, the landing and our bathroom.

The only noise I ever hear from their house is that noise of a pull switch light cord. And the only time I ever hear it is just after I go to the bathroom at night before I go to bed. Whatever the time. I never hear it before or after. Without fail it is just after I leave the bathroom. I go to bed at very random times (DH works away...). it could be 8pm, it could be 1am. Whatever time it is, I always hear that cord go within 20 seconds of me leaving the bathroom...

Uuummmmmm AIBU to think I might be being spied on..??!!! How do I find out for sure?!!

I'm sorry, they didn't show the peeping tom part. The guy who began fighting the property management guys was trying to keep them from entering a room of monitors. He had installed camera's inside fellow tenants showers and toilet area's, and had been watching them showering and using the toilet.

iscream · 06/07/2012 07:22

NOT that I think that is your mystery sound, no fear.

GingerBlondecat · 06/07/2012 10:23

I'm still watching your thread sweetie

gnocci · 06/07/2012 10:48

Well funnily enough since DH went round night before last it all seems rather quiet.......!!!!!! No light cord last night (not that I heard anyway).

helpful Hmm

ShatnersBassoon · 06/07/2012 11:55

biddysmama - I'd love to see how anyone could give any sort of 'helpful' response to this thread Grin

The joke has worn thin now.

Sallyingforth · 06/07/2012 12:14

Is this still dragging on?

gnocci · 06/07/2012 14:52

Ummmmm Hmm

Ok, everyone's got bored now. That's fine. I won't post again about it :( I was\am genuinely concerned about it, tried to figure out if it was light/tank/electric (all discounted), DH went in loft and even went round the house! Struggling to understand how that can mean my fear is "bullshit" tbh....

Anyway, whatever. I'm sure there's an innocent explanation. Glad DH is home now.

GlassofRose · 06/07/2012 15:16

Gnocci, it's not bullshit if it is genuinely worrying you.

It is very odd, but not totally impossible.

Perhaps a redecoration of your bathroom could make you feel better and more safe?

BobbiFleckman · 06/07/2012 15:18

if someone wanted to spy on me when I was 7mths pg, I'd probably have got the tassels out and given them a show with the sheer delight of someone thinking I was attractive enough to bother spying on.

(ps - move house, obviously)

Are you still hearing the same noise and is he still drilling??
Posts do go silent after a few days, don't worry we are all awaiting news of you finding out what it isWink
Believe me i have been through a simular situation and the reason why was never found outHmm, if you look at my first post on here it will tell you what i experienced.
Everyone in my home felt they were being watched when in the bath, it was freaky, we lived in an old victorian house so to this day we do not know if it was truly the weird neighbour or a ghost as we had strange goings on to warrant the ghost senario but then again the nbr was weird also

Migsy1 · 06/07/2012 17:00

I think if it is a camera you would find it. Did you search behind the extractor fan / shower switch thing?

sparkybabe · 06/07/2012 18:10

sallyingforth - are you still here?

Babylon1 · 06/07/2012 18:17

If you're not interested in reading it, don't fucking read it obviously Hmm

FWIW I don't think it's bullshit, but even if it was, it's the funniest thread I've read in ages!

Sposh · 06/07/2012 18:20

greenplastictrees · 06/07/2012 19:02

Have to say, I've never been in the loft of three houses I've lived in so wouldn't have a clue if it was carpeted or had a family or five living up there!

DeeDee1977 · 06/07/2012 19:12
